Hi G-Fans!
The concierge had an epiphany last night that she shared with me, so I have given it some thought today. Being another dreary, rainy sort of day, it lent itself to inward musings. While taking a late night shower the concierge was thinking what the purpose would be for our bodies (dog, human or other) to deteriorate as they age. Her answer makes sense even in a dog world. If we all had our three year old bodies (i.e. for a dog, for humans it would be 20-30 year old bodies) then we would want to keep tearing through life. But, if our bodies start slowing down, breaking down, feeling down, we are preparing ourselves to let go gracefully of our bodies so we may leave this world. It makes the separation easier. The disconnect is less abrupt. We might even look forward to not being in pain, not losing anymore teeth, marbles or visual acuity, to not having problems standing up, sitting down or shuffling. There seems to be a list of things that help us become disgusted by our physical existence so we can move on. Personally, I think it really makes sense. Now, of course this doesn't cover the whole gamut of life and death, but just the aspect of why our bodies cycle as they do if they have the opportunity to age.
So that is the thought for today.
Appreciate the under-appreciated.
Grab the tail and swing!
