Again with the no walk!

Hi G-Fans!
By the time the concierge dragged her butt home it was 14 degrees out.  I think you know by now what that means.
That means NO WALK.
I am so sick of NO WALK because we are living in the new TUNDRA.
Ridiculous.
I was given no warning or heads up on this change in routine and to be honest I am really not OK with it...
As a Royal, I would think, there should be something I can do to change this.
Until then, the electric blankie calls out to me from the royal boudoir.
It SOOOOO cozy!
And, as much as I grumble, Snagglepus snuggling up to my hiney is also cozy!  There are standards I need to maintain.  Facades that must be kept intact.  If I just acted like I was welcoming that kind of familiarity, who knows what could happen....
The fabric of my world would start unravelling......!
For sure!
So, not much to report.  Snagglepus continues to feel better and eat better, although still not out of the woods overall.  Next week he has his ultrasound to see why he has other things showing up....
The concierge won't be lollygagging around tomorrow as she is going to a funeral (and then on Monday a wake).  There is a lot of stuff to deal with lately with people passing away, others having catastrophic accidents or illnesses and whatnot.  It is lot for a princess to keep track of..... and manage.....
Anyway....
May you measure the riches in your life through the depth of your experience....

Where are my boots?

Hi G-Fans!
Well, Snagglepus is starting to go in places relentlessly where the concierge doesn't want him to go, so I would say he is feeling better today.  He certainly has been fed (and eaten) enough times.
So, the household is less dirge-like than it has been lately.
So, hot towels to his chin and lots of food is the order of the day for him.
Me, on the other paw, I am being starved out.  Measly treats and meals.  I think the concierge needs to re-think the portions and choices for food.  She has me on such a skimpy amount I am surprised I can even function.
And the walk.
Where are my boots?
Tessa has her coat, and Raphael was even sporting an army jacket of sorts that was too small for him.  And we still got too cold.  We all seemed to take turns limping other than Riley or Bertie.  The rest of us suffered along the short little walk.
I am surprised no one slipped on the ice.
The concierge is pretty stiff and sore from her tumbles.
So, it is late and time for my beauty rest.
May you enjoy the sweet anticipation of a preferred activity or purchase.....

Salt and ice....

Hi G-Fans!
Well, the temp improved around here.  It got above freezing which was positively balmy.
Oh, but I jump ahead.
We also got four plus more inches of snow last night.  This is on top of the thick ice slicks that are everywhere.
The concierge has gone down twice already.
She went down one time while putting salt down to address the ice.  Yikes.
On top of that we had an early morning visitor!
He looked at that box over the stove that makes our water hot so we have gravy with our dried kibble gruel.
He is going to put new parts in and take old parts out so we can heat up our water again.
We didn't even get a chance to get very worked up about the visitor because he was in/out so speedy quick.
We thoroughly smelled the lingering scent trails left behind him as he whisked away to parts unknown.
He said he would be back.
I am waiting.
So, we got a stinky walk, and again, some pretty decent scents were lingering on some of the dark corners piled with snow.
We really sucked the scent molecules right out of the snow.
So, I need to close as the concierge's reptilian brain keeps turning off while I am in mid-thought and I am getting frustrated with her inattention.
So, may you rise to greet your slick challenges with fortitude and persistence and maybe a little salt.

I have been telling you it has been cold around here... this is some proof!!

Redistribution of blessings.....

Hi G-Fans!
Well, another brrrriffic day.  Translation:  No Walk.
15 degrees again.
I will make this brief because I think the electric blanket on the royal bedding needs to be checked for proper temperatures and functioning.  It is my duty as a royal to make sure my minions are safe.
So, I will make sure the concierge is utilizing the blanket properly with all safety measures in place, and if I should happen to curl up and sleep on it, well, that is even better.
So, we had an unusual day.  The concierge didn't race out of here, but she left efficiently.  Then she had a chunk of time at lunch.  She had a sandwich for lunch because the "new" microwave decided it was on strike.  So no hot lunch for her.  I guess as far as it goes the convenience factor of a microwave is nice, but it isn't indispensable.....
Just sayin'
The breakfasts were managed just fine today.
Apparently someone is going to enter the domicile tomorrow to look at the microwave and see if it can be salvaged....I will keep you posted.
So, as I write the white flakes are drifting down.  We are all quiet and settled in since we have had our bedtime treats.
Snagglepus is now on antibiotics for his chin.
He really doesn't feel good.
We are hoping he will start feeling better by tomorrow as his chin starts to return to normal.
Then the ultrasound.
It seems to go on and on.....
I would also like to mention that the concierge, although home for a decent amount of time (but distracted and short fused) and came home "early", she blew out as fast as she blew in and by the smell of it she ate somewhere.  And, she didn't bring any leftovers.....
Such nerve!
So, may you always remember to save a portion of your blessings to redistribute to those around you....

Snow imprisonment....

Hi G-Fans!
I would have had this done earlier if the concierge wasn't futzing around with her e-mails.
Man, she is verbose!  Even when she is writing!
So, that means she is giving me the bum's rush.
Now, mind you, I have very little to write about since I don't get to watch t.v., the news, listen to the radio or much of anything else.  And don't even get me going on the status of the walks.  Another day has come and gone where we have been neglected.  Just because it was 15 degrees out!  The concierge says she would brave it, but it isn't safe for us to go out and spend any time in those kinds of temperatures.  I admit that it is pretty cold.  But, still, isn't there some kind of indoor park she could take us to?  Something?
To update you on Snagglepus, he is getting an ultrasound in a week and is going to get antibiotics.  He is eating better, and crying less, but he still feels crappy, I can tell.  It makes me anxious.  I try to tell the concierge and the helper, but they are so obtuse.  They say I am being "cute" and affectionate or let me out because they think I have to go potty.  How is a dog suppose to get the point across with dullards like that?
Well, hopefully some of the remedies address his discomforts and then we get an answer from the other tests....
On another note, Raphael and Bertie have healed well from their surgeries.
And the concierge brought some toys home for us today and special food for the cats and birds.  So everyone gets a little something to make up for this snow imprisonment.  I think the concierge should look into a blow torch and create a more open space for us to romp in....
Just sayin'...
So, may you find yourself right where you are and be content in it.....

Some of these pictures might be repeats, but at this hour the concierge couldn't see very well, so enjoy round two on some of them.....!

Don't sweat the small stuff....

Hi G-Fans!
Well, I think I will make this brief.
Update on the weather:  It was raining when I got up for the day and then it was snowing by the time I was done with my morning constitutional after breakfast (of which I refused to eat this morning, I chose, instead, to gorge on snow and other things making my stomach feel queasy).  Then it snowed for another several hours.
During our walk the clouds started to lift and shift so that we actually saw blue sky and sunlight here and there.
Harry came today with us to walk, so we did a similar path.
Next:  Snagglepus continues to do better than he had been, but still isn't his old self.
The Royal Abode:  Channels have been melted through the ice dams and there has been some melting.  We continue to monitor the progress of this concerning roof situation.
Other health issues:  Riley was having leg issues, which prompted the concierge to administer pain medication and homeopathic preparations for strained muscles.  As of this writing he was able to walk outside on the leash.  He pooped, but wouldn't pee, and even though the concierge came back and got me to come out with him, I refused to participate in her little ruse.  I was not going to pee just so Riley would go.  We already had gone out, we had already had our bedtime cookies, and I was ready to turn in for the night.
Honestly, have I been reduced to the likes of a pee teaser???  What does that even mean???
So, hopefully Riley doesn't hit a full bladder until morning when it is time to relieve ourselves before breakfast.
I know there were more things to report on, but I can't remember....!
So, may you remember the important stuff and not sweat the small stuff...

So much to tell you.....!

Hi G-Fans!
Where do I begin?
I almost didn't get to blog today because the concierge had extracurricular activities this evening and she didn't return until very late.  Let's just say that Cinderella's ride would have been a pumpkin being pulled by mice by the time she returned.
But, here I am spilling my guts.
I mean, here I am sharing my erudite and fascinating thoughts and insights.
So, The concierge got pretty cranky today because the walk was shifted.
The good news is we said goodbye to the helper's ride that was a constant reminder from days gone by when Riley and I showed the helper the sorts of things we enjoy rolling in...  On our first time meeting him mind you....!  So I say good riddance!  (Although, there were a lot of good memories from walks of the past tied up in that transport vehicle.  And personally, I enjoyed rolling in what I rolled in, I thought it made me more alluring.... I am just sick of hearing about it from the concierge....blah, blah, blah...!)
So, that transaction entailed unknown humans to come into close proximity of the royal abode.
We let them know not to get too close to the door.  Which they didn't.
Next, Snagglepus was whisked off for the second Saturday in a row to a doctor.  This one thinks there is a metabolic or glandular issue going on, so an ultrasound is on his dance card for March.  The dentistry waits.....  He has some interesting medications to tide him over until his appointment.  He was pretty stoned earlier this evening..... The concierge is rethinking his "cocktail" so he isn't quite so "snowed"....  He is better now and has eaten more today than he has in the week combined... we guess....
Next our walk.
It started to snow on our walk.
The concierge stopped us halfway through to take pictures (see below).
While on our photo shoot, with the concierge taking the pictures, gloves between her knees, The Helper holding all of us, two dogs and a snow bike come up from behind.
We go ballistic!   As we should!
The concierge can't get the phone put away, or her gloves on or untangle the leashes immediately....
And the guy was not very effectual in getting his dogs to listen and go away from us.
We did NOT, however, have a close encounter.
We WANTED to have one.
BRING IT ON!
Raphael and I were ready and willing to engage!
I don't know what the big deal was, the concierge kept telling us to knock it off and keep moving (once we were untangled).
She is SOOOOO uptight!
Then some lady approached Bertie and Tessa in the parking lot, and THEN a golden retriever pulled into the lot sticking his head out of the window.
Yikes.  Bedlam!!
But, no encounters that were up close and personal.
So, now the snow has turned to rain, the pantyhose thing seems to be working well on the roof, and we keep our fingers crossed....!
So, may your days be filled with meaning in abundance!

Pantyhose, salt, ice dams and other things....

Hi G-Fans!
Well, it was another cold one, to the point of no walk cold, AGAIN!
This is really getting old.
We are really getting stir crazy.
Raphael took it upon himself to shred Sophie's new scratching box today to address his built up angst.
Which then created angst for the concierge who came home to find it in a lot of pieces.
The concierge is pretty disgusted with his behaviors these days.
I really don't know where he gets that streak of destructiveness, I am thinking it must be his father's side.
The concierge is giving me a "look", so. I will write, in my defense, that what I do in the kitchen and what he keeps doing are completely different acts.
I am COMMUNICATING.
What he is doing is DESTRUCTION.
The difference between the two is worlds apart.
So, Snagglepus is going to a new doctor tomorrow.  He is going somewhere Schubert went to when I was just little.  Different doctor, same hospital.  The concierge is determined to get him put back together.
I hope so, the current state of affairs is less than pleasant.
The concierge now suspects he hasn't eaten in a couple of days, so that isn't good.
The Snags needs vittles.
Sustenance.
Nutrition.
Food.
The concierge rustled up some stuff for his pain so he can make it to tomorrow's appointment with some rest.  He was pretty miserable yesterday.  The drops of stuff she gave him really seem to be helping make him comfortable.
I will let you know what transpires.
In the meantime there are pantyhose on our roof.
The helper put salty pantyhose on our roof trying to melt the ice dams.  So far we are waiting for it to work, it was too cold today to be effective.  We hope by tomorrow there is some progress before our next storm on Sunday.  We are dreading this one, it is suppose to rain and then FREEZE.  Disaster!  I am not enjoying the icy patches.
Anyway,
May you keep your roof free of clogging ice, even if it means putting pantyhose up there!

Ice dams and other things.....

Hi G-Fans!
Well, it was a pretty nice day, not that I was able to take advantage of it or anything....
By the time the concierge strolled into the royal domain the temperature had dropped to 14 and the concierge canceled the walk.  Great.
If I had my boots I could have gone.
And Tessa's wrap.  She can't stop yapping about how cozy she is walking with that wrap on.....
It is always something!
So, thus far the ice has collected on our roof, but nothing has collapsed or leaked.  We are keeping a vigilant eye on it all and the concierge is praying a lot on it....
I guess for someone who doesn't watch the news she certainly gets a lot of current events passed her way....
She knows about the collapsed roof tops and ceilings, the ice dams and roof rakes......
So, no walk, coldness and more expected snow....
What else is new?
May you enjoy a flow of information that suits your needs....

Is my time-out done yet?  How 'bout now?
Now?

Riley and Snag snugglefest

The snugglefest from another view....

Boy, that Snagglepus gets around, now he is snuggling with me!

Tessa in a deep sleep...

Me being snuggly....

Snagglepus being cradled.....

Terra Firma....

Hi G-Fans!
Well, not much to report.  Another stinky walk late at night.  I suppose I should be grateful that I get one at all, but this limited walking is really getting on everyone's nerves.
I think the concierge is affected the most out of all of us.
The temperature was better today... and the sun was out....
That is something.
Harry went to the doctor today.
It was a physical.
Nothing to report except that his concierge said he was a big baby.  Well, I don't think she used those words exactly, but pretty much what she said.
He lived to tell us about it.
He said that the view from between his concierge's knees was pretty limited, so he can't tell much.
He and Raphael sympathized with one another.
So dramatic!
At least Harry didn't back out of his collar at the doctor's parking lot!!
Oh, and the estimate for Snagglepus' dental has the concierge hissing and moaning.
So, overall, a whine-fest these days over here.
Fun.
I really can't wait until I can touch terra firma again.  I am done with all this cold snow.
So, may you tolerate your circumstances with aplomb.

Find your rhythm

Hi G-Fans!
Well, we really did get more snow today.
We got MORE!
I don't remember ever seeing so much snow in my life!
We have taken to eating it in an attempt to get rid of it... it is a big task!  We all enjoy flavor sampling too.  The concierge says we smell when we do that.  I think she is just jealous.
She just doesn't take time to smell the flowers or sample the colored snow....
Too bad for her.
So, it looks like if we get a walk it will be one of those stinky down the street ones...
I hope the snow plows don't plow into us.
That would be bad.
It would ruin the whole night.  The concierge isn't very calm either, so it would be doubly bad.
Oh, some stinky truck was parked in front of our driveway and dragged some apparatus from it to our stoop.  I couldn't see what he did with it, but it can't be good.
The concierge waited for him to be done and put his apparatus away before she pulled into the driveway.  She didn't seem bothered that he had trespassed on the royal domain.
What is wrong with that?
It makes us all the more in need to bark vociferously...
So, may you find the rhythm to your day to sway to the music in your head....
TTFN!
