Unacceptable Events

Well, Grace here after a two-day break.  It's good that Tess wanted to share.  Now, back to me....  I want to lodge two disgruntled comments.  First of all, we had NO WALK yesterday!  And as far as I can tell there was no good reason for it.  The concierge mumbled something from under her blanket about feeling crummy, but that really isn't a good reason if you ask me.  Aren't there places you can call for that kind of emergency?  Anyway, to add liver on top, our BREAKFAST WAS LATE!  This just isn't acceptable!  So, I did two things while I waited for breakfast to appear.  First, I jumped up to the swedish ivy plant hanging on the cross beam and grabbed the vine and yanked it down so it hit the floor (the vine, not the plant itself).  Well, it worked, that got the concierge's attention rather quickly.  She acted surprised like it was something outrageous.  The one bad thing, now she knows it hasn't been Bertie (my son Tess keeps calling the "Butthead") all this time grabbing the hanging swedish ivy and spider plant offshoots.  Oh well, the situation really called for drastic measures.  The second thing I did was to compose a poem while I PATIENTLY waited.  I will share it with you now...

Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
If I don't get breakfast soon,
I'm eating YOU!

So there!
(I didn't have to eat the concierge, she delivered in fairly quick fashion once I got her up)

Well, I expect to have a fabulous day, I hope everyone else does as well.

Tess Shares Baby Pics

Hi.  It is Tessa again.  Mom knew I went on her blog and said if I wanted to write that badly than I could do it again today.  Moms, you just never know what they are going to do!  So, I thought I could share some baby pictures with you of my sibs and myself.  Of course, without a picture of Mom, there would be no "us".  So, here, on the left, is a picture I included of Mom laughing.  It is a good laugh :)

Here is a picture of us kids, a few days old.  I am the white one on the upper left getting a snack.  I was the biggest kid in the gang for a long time.  I love my snacks!!  They make me dance!

Here are some of my sibs (no more than two days old) and my Mom looking relaxed and happy.  You go Mom!

Oops.  How did this picture get here??  Well, this is a picture of an heirloom pig (whatever that means?) from Maine that Mom's concierge made friends with one year.  He actually made the Christmas card that year!

Now I am the one in the lower center getting a snack.  I am serious about my food!

I am the upside down one, I think.  It is hard to tell with baby pics.

OOoH - Another interloper!  Where did this come from???
I will have to ask the concierge about this one!

And this poser, is my brother, and he is STILL a butt head!  Don't be fooled by his cute towel-holding ways.

Well, that is enough down memory lane for now.  I think my Mom will be back on the blog tomorrow.  So, unless I make my own blog, I will write you when I am permitted.
For now, relax and be well :)

A Sneak Post From Tess

Hi There!
This is Tessa, Grace's daughter, you know, the one she ratted on yesterday....
While Mom sits contemplatively on her hill I am sneaking in and writing on her blog.  I hope she doesn't notice.
I want to say that my brother is a BUTT HEAD!  And no one cares that he is a butt head. No one!  He pesters me nonstop and teases and sticks his nose where IT DOESN'T BELONG!  It is sooooooo annoying!  Some day I am going to do more than swat him on the head....  oooh, I think she is coming.... I gotta go... glad we could share....

Introducing Tess

Good Morning!
No, This is not a picture of me.  It is a picture of my daughter.  As you can see she is a bit of a lounger (lounge lizard, gad-about, lazy-pants, etc.).  This morning was no exception.  She declined to join us for our 5:00 am constitutional as she did not feel like getting up.  The concierge will allow this usually, which she did today.  Generally this does not pose any issues as the concierge knows that before breakfast is served she needs to be scooted out the door, which is what happened this morning.  My daughter, however, was in a hurry for breakfast so scooted out to fulfill the request of the concierge, but did not relieve herself.  Instead she chose to do that in a full skid racing into the kitchen.  Needless to say, this hindered breakfast significantly.  My daughter was escorted out (rather abruptly I might add) and the rest of us scattered to other areas of the house as the mess was cleaned up.  I expect the concierge to provide services cheerfully, I have to say that this morning she fell short of that expectation.  But once all was cleaned up, all breakfast and morning activities resumed as usual.  So, peace has been restored to the kingdom and no heads permanently rolled.  That's it for now....
'til next time...

Attitude

Good Morning!
My Concierge brought this picture to my attention.  I am happy she did as it reminds me of her attitude this morning!  After the less-than-acceptable walk last night, it should be me with the 'tude!!  But, alas, I have to deal with commoners every day with good graces, so this is no different :)  Right now everyone is quiet and all I can hear is the hum of fans and air conditioners.  I may have to change that shortly.  I am sure there is something going on outside that needs my concierge's attention... and lots of menacing barking from myself and my courtiers.  It was so much easier before the windows were changed.  Now, everything is so blurry, we all have to guess what to bark at and react to sounds, every little sound...
Well, TTFN!

Eider Duck Release From the New England Wildlife Center

-
Hi!
My concierge is a volunteer with the New England Wildlife Center and she asked me to share this video of the Eider duck release.  Personally, I think he looks good enough to eat... but that wasn't an option.....

Unauthorized Activities

This morning I found myself stretched languorously across my king-sized bed, of which I allow my concierge a corner to share.  Although comfortable, I was a little peeved.  My concierge, with help, had put unauthorized covers that smelled WRONG!  I had spent weeks gathering all sorts of delightful smells from my travels and imparting them on those covers.  They were just getting to an acceptable level of ripeness and then she went sneakily behind my back while I was otherwise engaged and changed them!  Even Princesses can't get good help!  Now I have to start all over again and I am not going to be able to gather some of those key notes (as they say in the perfume business?) because they won't be available anymore.  C'est la vie I suppose.  I guess it is always good to have a project to be working on.
I hope everyone has a day full of lovely surprises.
Ciou!

RAIN

Well, last night's walk started out dry and balmy.  Halfway through the walk the sky opened up and soaked us all.  Nothing like bringing home the smell of fresh rain mixed with dirty wet dog and mud!  Mmmmm!  Not as good as when I find a particularly intoxicating pile of rotting mass to roll in and cover myself in the aromatic smells, but it is pretty good :)

Introductions

Hello!
My name is Grace.  DiMorghengo BRKS Amazing Grace, Ch. to be precise.  I have been thinking it is time for me to share some of my thoughts, experiences, insights and overall "royalness" for anyone who is interested.  Tonight seemed as good a night as any to start.
After struggling with the keypad to start a blog site I hope I am all set.  It is hard to keep up with all this technology, especially when it is usually off-limits because I may be harboring excessive drool, mud, sand and other unsavory products.
Today's thunderstorms have me a bit jittery, and although the sun is shining right now, I don't want to be caught in some of the torrents of rain that came down early this morning and only an hour or so ago.  Soooo, I guess it will be left to my concierge to decide if we stay or we go.... as we know... if we stay I will probably cause trouble (too much unused energy) but if we go....it could be double.... so I will have to let you know....
That's enough for the moment.. carpe diem!!!  I think we are going to go!
Yay!
Ahem, I mean, "isn't that lovely?"
TTFN :)
