snow and sun

Hi G-Fans!
Well, it did snow this morning, but the concierge left anyway because the sun was suppose to, and did, come out and the snow was to stop.
So, we weren't left alone as Harry's concierge joined us in all merry making and festive endeavors.  While we were doing that, the concierge was visiting Gabriella and her extended entourage.
So, apparently that was tiring for some reason so now the concierge did last outs, is delirious from so much driving.
So we will make this sweet.
WE DID NOT GET A WALK AGAIN!!!!
SOS!
I feel like a prisoner!
    Wait a minute......
So may you be content in the circumstances in which you find your self.....

Do what you have to do....

 Hi G-Fans!
Well, the flakes are slowly swirling down on the puffs of coldish air.
If it amounts to anything we will get a better walk than if it amounts to nothing.
Go figure.
The concierge has plans to vamoose for most of the day.
To see Gabriella of all people!
Honestly.
I don't know why my bags aren't packed?!?!
Although....
The concierge mentioned something about the debris of plastic litter I created in the kitchen today.
I am not saying I did it, but fat lot of effect THAT protest had!
I didn't even get a block walk tonight!  And she still plans on going if the weather cooperates!
I will say that the remains of the plastic lid had a lovely film of taste on it of the refrigerator treats we enjoy.  And the leftover plastic zip lock bag of treat bones were pretty enjoyable as well.
Just sayin'.... URP!
SO, may you find yourself surrounded by the beings you love and may you love them back....

More on the way?

Hi G-Fans!
It is Thursday and there is still digging out to be done!
And now, I have heard, that more snow is on its way.... tonight, tomorrow, Saturday, and Sunday!
Boy OH Boy we are making up for the limited precipitation we had this season-  up until this week....!
Today was day 4 of our cramped captivity.
The concierge finally got the leashes out and we were street walkers.  We didn't really have any options for safe routes to walk. At least there weren't very many cars out and about.
We made full use of our noses and snow banks for peeing.
What a relief to get out for a few minutes.  I think we were all at the end of our ropes being cooped up for so many days straight.  The concierge was sick of our hair trigger reactions to everything and we were starting to follow her around every time she got up from a chair and moved a few inches.  We were what she calls, "itches"....  I did it with the batting of the eyelashes so she thought I had to go potty all the time.
I was just bored and hoping there was something exciting going on outside, because inside was dullsville!
So that's it.
The concierge went to bed really early last night and wishes she could have done the same tonight.
So, while we wait, may we make good use of the time in front of us!

Snow Removal

Hi G-Fans!
Well, the snow finally stopped at some point last night or early in the morning.  The weather pods say we accumulated 31 inches.  I think that might be right north of us, but I think we have several more inches above that in our neighborhood!  No kidding.  Tessa even inspected, she thinks it is definitely way more than 31 inches of snow, whatever 31 inches means.....
(The concierge just explained an equivalent ratio of dog bones to inches and she now agrees unequivocally that there is more than "31 inches" of snow around here....!  Sometimes it is just in the changing of your perspective....)
So, despite today's sun. the concierge was mostly thwarted in her attempts to work today.  She stayed home all but three hours because the town she was suppose to drive to doesn't believe in plowing..... so there was either no parking, no access or no people..... And yet, we got no walk.
The concierge said it was too dangerous, AGAIN!
I am soooo sick of THAT excuse.
Although, I will say, those plows are pretty big and noisy.
She might be right.
Anyway,
May the accumulation of debris in your life be small, light and easily removed!

Tessa thought she might inspect the shoveling progress....

Oh mighty shovel, make me a path to adventure and excitement....!

No?  Ok, how am I going to get over these mountains of white stuff?

It was almost tunnel-like on the deck to go potty out back....

That is a lot of snow..... and no yellow anywhere!  That is a first!

The marker is almost buried!

Breakfast of champions after lots of shoveling!
I would like to know where MY piece is?!?!

Winding down and nowhere to go...

Hi G-Fans!
Well, it is in the wee hours of the morning and the storm has finally settled down.  There has been mad shoveling going on front and back and there still is a problem.  When I have to go to the royal "water closet" I have to have some space between my nether regions and the ground.  Even with all the shoveling, ground space is a limited commodity right now.  Riley is even in a more precarious predicament since his legs are shorter.  And all his other physical limitations add to the challenge.  So I guess I shouldn't be too whiny.
The good news, so far, is we have our power, which means warm meals (human and dogs) and no rearranging of anyone like the birds.  We still are enjoying the warmth of the wood stove and the furnace.
Of course, we had no official walk since it was a challenge to just get out of the door.  And I wasn't too keen on that either.
I have enjoyed the quiet that a storm of this magnitude brings.  Although there was an interloper midday.  I wasn't too sure about all of it, but the concierge was pretty happy.  It meant less shoveling for her and a well cleared out driveway.  But, then we had another foot since then so there has still been shoveling.  I think the concierge is most challenged, currently, as to where the unwanted snow can go.  The dumping areas are getting pretty high.
Tonight's snow, luckily is more powdery, if it was wet, I think the concierge might have passed out at 11:00 from overexertion.... The piles are just that high.
So, not much else to report from here.
Tomorrow will have a slow start, but I think there will be some activity later in the day.
So, may you find ways to manage the piles of unwanted stuff in your life.....
TTFN!

The Blizzard is in progress.....

Hi G-Fans!
So, the day started out like most Mondays.  Nothing outstanding as far as I can recall.
The snow was a flake every five minutes mid-morning.  By the time the afternoon rolled around it was a light, but steady flow of flakes.  By five or five-thirty the snow began in earnest.
Now, the blizzard has arrived.
I thought we might take a little walk to check out the accumulation in the neighborhood, but the concierge thought that the snow plows were too risky and unsafe for us.
So, we did backyard laser light.
Now, I don't get what that is all about.
But apparently Harry, Raphael and Tessa are on it!
They LOVE laser light!
I tried to get some sustained traditional play of frolicking and racing around with one another.  The laser light fanatics had no eyes for that.  I frolicked by myself.
RIley was eager to get back inside.
Bertie was turning into a snowdog.... he seems to collect more snow than anyone else.
The reports I have heard is two to four inches accumulation per hour.  The concierge has cleared the deck several times already.  We might already be snowed in at the front doors....!  The concierge won't even check until daylight.
Everything human has been cancelled in the area.
So, I am looking forward to frolicking in the daylight.
So, may everyone increase their amount of frolicking to a consistently therapeutic level....
Just Sayin'!

The blizzard...

Hi G-Fans!
Itsa coming, itsa coming!!
The blizzard, itsa coming!
Well, there is some activity for battening down the hatches with the forecast calling for a huge blizzard tomorrow.
I'm a little worried since the concierge was unsuccessful in procuring additional vittles today.  Apparently our special food shop shuts down before 2 on Sundays in the winter!  Who knew!?  Not the concierge.
Other places carry our food, but the concierge said we should make it for the week.  I better not be put on any further rations, I already get almost the least amount of food of anyone as it is.  It is ridiculous!  I can't believe I have any energy to do anything with such a small amount of food.
Although, the concierge says that when I throw up it looks like A LOT more food comes up than what was sent down.  (I threw up yesterday...)
Today, we did a nice sunny late afternoon forest walk.  It was pretty tame.  But, someone walked their dog there before we came and there was some good sniffing for us.
So, back to tomorrow....
The concierge said that we need to prepare for this onslaught of fluffy white water and yet she is sipping her tea and not being very diligent, in my opinion.  She should be getting the supplies in order, again, in my opinion.  Finding the oil lamps, charging or changing the batteries..... She should be BUSY preparing!
Well, if I can remain connected to the www.  I will keep you posted on my progress with this dramatic oncoming weather!
May you keep safe amidst high winds, dark days and piling precipitation....
TTFN!

Tessa's advice as to the best way to weather the storm is to hunker down in a warm cozy spot with an activity that doesn't require electricity....!

Tragedy Averted

Hi G-Fans!
What a sloppy day!  We have had snow, rain, snow, rain, and something in between a few times throughout the day.
The concierge did not do a usual Saturday, especially considering the weather.  It was the perfect day to sip tea, ensconced with furry bodies to her left and right (on on top of her lap as well).  Instead she got everyone situated for the morning and tore out of here with boots and borrowed coats.
Apparently she had a date with a boat repair person and now there is a repaired boat that smells intriguing on our deck for temporary safe keeping.
And, instead of coming straight home in this weather, the concierge thought it prudent to galavant about and have lunch and go to get chocolates.  Before returning to let us out and give us treats.
I wouldn't mind so much if it was our kind of sweets she picked up, but we cant' even sample what she picked up.
Figures.
Anyway.
We did do a walk, but it was looking dicey for a bit as there was some afternoon snoozing going on.
I did take advantage of the situation and hugged up close to keep warm.
But, the walk did happen, but we left Riley home again!  This time he knew it and didn't sleep through it... he handled it pretty well, and we made it up to him by giving him a walk with myself and Harry afterwards.  He just wanted to stretch his legs and sniff for a bit, so no permanent grudge is being held.
On our walk there was a tad bit of excitement.
We were VERY LUCKY it did not have a tragic outcome.
We were just starting the walk and needed to pass a small stretch of sidewalk before crossing over to the path to the bog.
What come barreling down on us but a jogger.
Myself and Harry hotfooted it across the street leaving Bertie, Tessa and Raphael with the concierge.  They stepped off the sidewalk into a thin grove of four to five trees.  The concierge used the trees to keep Raphael and Bertie managed.
But... wardrobe malfunction!  The tree apparently pushed the release on the halter and Raphael was freed from his oppressor!
The good news....
he did not go towards the jogger.
The bad news...
he came straight for us and crossed the street without so much as a nod in either direction.
The best news...
there weren't any vehicles in either direction and each of Harry's concierges grabbed his collar and he was reattached to Bertie and the concierge once the remaining crew crossed over from the other side.
Tragedy averted.
Yikes!
So that was MY day!
How was yours?
May you find yourself surrounded in the safety of Love :)
Or, may you PAWS and look in all directions before proceeding forward......

Snuggling before the snow.....

Hi G-Fans!
Well, I keep hearing the word "snow" bandied about.  Harry's concierge even faked us out and told us there was snow when there wasn't any.  I don't find that funny.  I was excited to go stick my nose in it and she won't even remember that she traumatized someone by saying that.  That is how humans can be.....!
But, I am hearing tomorrow morning.
There is a surprise in the works tomorrow morning for the helper.  I can't let the cat out of the bag so it stays a surprise.
But, snow would make it a challenge on some level.
So, tonight we did an uneventful school walk.  I know for some uneventful might have negative connotations, but not here.  Uneventful is good in that case.
So, in anticipation of the morning snow, I got an early start in snuggling in the bed... see last photo for more information :)
So, regardless of your weather patterns, may you find time and space to snuggle in to a soft spot.

Innocent!!

Hi G-Fans!
Well, apparently I hit a chord yesterday with some folks.  I had quite a few views to yesterday's entry.
Maybe a little celebration to our creator is what we all need!
So, with that, i do celebrate the day,
but,
it was no yesterday.
There was no bog activity and we walked in the dark to the school.
Riley dragged along (I think it was just a pokey night for him), Tessa and Harry were STINK-KEEEE!  It would probably be fresh of me to get into specifics, but suffice it to say, you did NOT want to be behind either one of them on the walk.
P-U!
Another issue is the accusations I am enduring concerning making noises while I am in repose.
I categorically deny any ruffian-like noises coming from my direction.
I want to see proof before I will even entertain the possibility.
Funny, the humans can't seem to produce any tangible evidence that I snore while I am sleeping.
They say it is because the minute they try to record it I stop.
Sure it is.
Maybe it is a ruse.  Maybe it is a ridiculous assertion that can never be proven because it is not true.
I mean, come on!
With all those gadgets and devices we are typically not allowed to even breathe on and not one of them has been able to catch a snippet of proof?
Hard to believe.  I think not.
So, may you stand your ground in innocence with dignity and grace :)
TTFN!
