Window shopping butts

Hi G-Fans!
The concierge is asking me to keep this brief.
Of course that makes me nervous and I can't gather my thoughts efficiently.
It makes me anxious.
Like earlier tonight when she was on her knees at the couch playing some weird game.  I thought we were doing "London Bridges" game so I kept going "under the bridge".  Which made the concierge giggle and shriek at the same time.  Apparently we weren't playing the same game and it turns out that she was contorting herself to get her upper back muscles to unkink.  Or something like that.  Let's just say it was scary and unpleasant and if she is going to make such a fuss she should give us fair warning.  We have very sensitive ears and we are very sensitive to distraught energy.  There has been distraught aplenty around here.  Lots we  can share!  Anyway, she has been quietly standing for over an hour and it is late, but she agreed to write this for me before she goes to bed.
She confided in me a little while ago that she is a little worried about what will happen when she goes to bed and her muscles relax more.  She said I am going to have to dial "911" in the morning. Like that will ever happen!  I don't even know what that means!
Usually when she has this sort of problem it is even with my nose...  that curvy part of her lower back.  This is up higher.  I know, I can smell that horrible stuff that she put on to help the muscles relax and heal.  Although this smells better than that green liquid, that stuff is vile!  But all of it smells wrong to me to some extent.  Why don't they make a dirt scented lotion?  It would be so much more appealing and healing....
Anyway, so much more I could go on about....
Like it is funny that this back thing of the concierge comes on the heels of a personal blow-out both with another 2-legged and the box-thing that makes chicken smell soooooo good.  Also, I overheard something about metal-things that aren't where they should be and have to be brought somewhere they can be and that we will be meeting a small 2-legged cousin in a few days, which coincides with the sitter getting sprung from wherever it is he has been.....
A lot for me to puzzle upon.
I will have to think about it all and see if I can gather more details to shed light on some of this stuff.
May you unravel your life mysteries with a sense of wonder and joy and not blow your back out.....!
TTFN!

Counter surfing and other odd thoughts

Here's a towel to help clean up...

Will this work?

CLOSE-UP SHOT....

Poser Time......

I hope this works......
Hi G-Fans!
The freezing temperatures have given way to warmer ones.  It felt like spring today.  The birds were even making their spring sounds.  Yet, the ground is slushy and we aren't even out of January yet.
Let me share with you some overlooked events this week.....
The other day began with a turd-shaped vomit log on the couch.  It was a mustard yellow and by the time it was found by the concierge it was quite cold.  The concierge was having a dream earlier in the morning about someone vomiting, so we are wondering if that was when it happened and she incorporated the noises into her dream.  If so, she has darn good hearing for a two-legged.
So, anyway, the concierge cleaned up the mess and we moved on with our morning.
Then over the weekend the concierge went out to get some replacement toys so we have safe outlets for our chewing.  She bought one that had a hard chew toy treat that she removed for later for Raphael when we have a full house and he needs something to make being separate appear appealing.
And then all the other new bones were on the counter too because hoarding Tessa lunged at Bertie because he was curious and was checking it out.  She really loves toys. Really.
Somehow, between the toys and chew-treat being put on the counter and when the concierge returned from her brief outing, the chew-treat disappeared from the counter.  Vanished.  Not a trace.
The concierge suspects that the stolen contraband treat was morphed into the turd-shaped vomit log the following morning.  I didn't do a sniff test of the chew-treat, so I guess we will never know.  I cannot confirm or deny her suspicions.
Which reminds me, the only two suspects for the disappearance of the chew-treat would be Raphael and Tessa.  The only suspects for the vomit-turd would be Bertie and Tessa (Riley has been sleeping in the inner royal chambers these days).  So, any common connections between the two lists of suspects?
Not to mention that when Raphael is left to his own devices, he has not once counter-surfed to the concierge's knowledge, not ever.....
Just sayin'....
So, that is it for tonight, I stayed up well past the expected time....
I hope that you experience treat-filled days that do not result in vomit.

Picture fest from Sunday.....

Hi G-Fans!
It is late, there is a roaring fire in the wood stove and I would prefer to be passed out while the snow/sleet pelts itself against the skylight.  I have had my cookie and am waiting to retire into the inner chambers with Riley in tow.  I am including pictures from Sunday from Gabriella's visit.  We were pretty swarmy, so not very many portrait quality photos in the bunch.  But, the pictures as a group, give a flavor of the morning.....
So, snuggle up, keep cozy and enjoy the pictures.

Gabriella, Riley and Me..... ready for something exciting to happen (oh, I think I see a smidgen of Tessa's butt)

Ditto to above minus Tessa's butt...

Total action shot...... Riley in the back, Gabriella next, Raphael next and either Tessa or myself in front..... Who do you guess it is?

Gabriella, Me and Tessa (L - R)

Somehow, the face doesn't resonate with the mat's message......

Gabriella and Raphael at snack time..... Mmmmmm!

Is this some sort of comic book picture?  Who is that streak between Raphael and Tessa?  (Not to say anything, because her concierge is pretty sensitive about it, but Gabriella is missing a waistline.....!)

Just making sure my Concierge is returning and not zooming away in the car.....

Raphael offering support.

Tessa checking the yard for squirrels.

Gabriella joining her..... sometimes Tessa can be nice to her sister.......

The visit is done....

The Snags
Hi G-Fans!
Well, visiting time is officially over.
Gabriella went home today and took her concierge and the concierge's helper.
On our walk in the sun by the bog today I was thinking that if I am a royal princess than my kids make for a royal family.  Would you not agree?  Now while I was on the walk it seemed to be a significant thought that was related to another significant thought, but the thought was interrupted by events out of my control.
We skirted a potential skirmish with that leashless yellow lab and ice skating teenagers on the bog again.
We took an interesting turn in route which we enjoyed.  As we were on the turn of the home stretch in the bog section we saw three people and two dogs on an approach to us.
We calmly waited.  Patiently waited.
Until the just the right moment.
And then we realized it was Harry and his two concierges.
And we were happy.
Happy to say hi to Harry and his troops.
Until Bertie alerted us to the additional interlopers.
Harry was not only walking with his entourage, but he was with another human and a smallish black and white youngster dog.
ANOTHER DOG!
We went wild crazy and made it as impossible as possible for them to safely pass.
They did manage to pass.
But no niceties were shared.
No hellos.
No how-do-you-do's.
No butt sniffing.
They just skittered past.
And we were dragged on.
The walk went relatively smoothly after that, except for the guy in the orange highlighted clothing and a baseball cap who had to walk in the street because we had to be show we were large and in charge.
The concierge did not show her gratitude for us protecting, no, instead she verbally assaulted us for at least an hour.  Or maybe it just felt like an hour.  Maybe it was less than an hour.  But it definitely felt like more than an hour.
Anyway, she used words like "ashamed", "mortified", "disappointed" and so on.  I stopped listening after the first three seconds when I realized she wasn't giving us accolades for our bravery and bravado.
So, that's it.
May you have the applause you crave for the heroic deeds your perform each day.
TTFN!

Gabriella bustin' a pose.

I forget...

Hi G-Fans!
Well, the concierge was thinking of some topics for me to write about tonight and between four present humans not one of them can come up with either topic.  Believe you me, I would remember had I been in the car with them.  They all were in agreement at how clever it would be of me to write of such things, and yet, not one of them can remember it.
Not One!
My concierge came up with the quippy ideas, but they all approved of them....
Ah, well....
On to more familiar and less esoteric (or so I assume) subjects.
Our walk today was in sunshine and less frigid conditions.
We only did our three-legged contortionist walking once or twice and that was in the beginning of the walk.
Tessa walked with Riley and I for most of the walk.  She was poked in the neck and cuffed in the jowls a bunch of times because of her annoyingly incessant whining that set the concierge's teeth on edge and made the blood vessels in her neck pop up an pulsate.  Riley hates it when that happens.  He gets very anxious over that.
It turns out, however, that some of the worst whining was because she was trying to tell the concierge about a labrador retriever who was leashless on the bog with some youngsters.  No issues came of it, I only wish I hadn't tuned Tessa out so thoroughly because I didn't know we were coming up on them either.  Half of the tribe had already passed the situation  by, but we brought up the rear with Harry, who, by the way (btw), was acting worse than Tessa for a good portion of the walk....
Just sayin'....
Once we passed the excitement, Tessa became much less annoying.  She frequently is referred to the drama queen circus dog because of some of her leash walk maneuvers.  It is pretty crazy.  She does a lunging pirouette, landing facing the concierge.
Anyway.
The rest of the walk was rather uneventful.
Well, maybe not entirely.
Harry's concierge and Gabriella's concierge lamented at not having video on hand to capture my concierge flying on the ice.  She went down on her sore hip and decided not to get up.  Typical, Riley got worried and stood over her.  Tessa was oblivious and had her eyes on something in the distance.  I found it the perfect moment to do a neck dive and roll like mad in the snowy grass, While she lay on the slick snow dusted ice the concierge was making a fake snow angel on.  She just didn't feel like making an effort to get herself up.  But she did eventually.
She also applied Arnica to her hip and leg.  She hopes it will help it heal faster.
I have to say, the concierge was a little grumpy to start with this morning.  She was saying she was cranky because it was the only day she had that she could sleep until 7:30.  This didn't happen and the concierge has put a gag order on any further discussion on the topic.
What I want to know is this.... Why do I get passed around like some common chattel?  Is that anyway to treat royalty?  Shouldn't I be handled witht he utmost regard?  Seriously.  I mean, where does the term. "Royal treatment"....?  I was led to believe that meant extra special treatment...?
The concierge says it is because I need to share my unflappable spirit with more than her.  So I try, but it isn't always easy.  Apparently Raphael was being somewhat of a bull and the human walking him basically had enough of being pulled.  So, the switch was made and I was able to show how a champion (albeit-spoiled champion) can walk on a leash without having to make huge issues at every corner, every shadow, every smell.  Raphael was relieved to be walking side by side with Tessa (his usual walking companion) and he settled down quite well too.
So, all in all, we had a good walk.  Maybe not one spectacular enough to make up for missing two days in a row.... but it is a start!
Ok Fans,
I am tired and need to retire!

Another night of house arrest...

The concierge with human family members.
Hi G-Fans!
It was a veritable heatwave today.
It was 11 degrees instead of 5 degrees this morning and it is expected to continue with this balmy weather.  It was 24 degrees at some point today.  Get out the Bermuda shorts!
So, why, you ask, did we get dissed on another walk opportunity?
I can't say I can tell you the answer to that conundrum.
I will say that Gabriella came for a visit and brought her concierge and entourage.  It was pretty busy here today.
My concierge didn't get home until after supper time.
No one would go with her apparently.  And she didn't want to go twice and she didn't want to pick anyone over anyone else.  That is how she usually rolls, it is all for one and one for all or not at all.
Tonight was not at all.
:(
She promises she is making it up to us in the morning.
She is teasing and saying perhaps a trip to the State Forest is on the agenda.
I will believe it when I see it.
So, I have included freakoid pictures just for the heck of it.
Something for a Friday night and a second evening of house arrest....

May you enjoy the small things in life; it is the small things that make all the difference and can turn a good life into a fabulous life....

Cold, cold, cold!

Hi G-Fans!
Another Beeerrrrrruummmmpy Day!
In other words...
it is COLD!!
The concierge left the house today to go away for the day and it was five degrees.
Yowzah barks the  Bowzah!
In fact, it was so cold the concierge decided it was worth dealing with our cabin crazies to not risk our safety tonight on a walk.
It is that cold.
Truly.
We have been better than expected over the no-walk thing.  The boys, of course, were a bit fresh and cranky with each other, but aside from that we were pretty much angelic pups.
Well, except for some weird aberration of nature.... don't ask because my lips are sealed!
And I have to say, it should never happen again, and I tried to tell the concierge there was an urgent concern.
I plead the fifth and there will be nothing else said of it.
And Harry's concierge can keep secrets and she would never say anything to embarrass someone.
So that is all you will ever know.
Period.
May all your surprises be pleasant ones.
TTFN!

BRRrrrrrrrr!

A rather sloppy rendition of our likenesses, but you get the idea.....
Snuggling together for warmth is not a new idea, but it is an effective idea :)

BRRrrrrr G- Fans!  IT IS COLD!!!
Now I am sure there are places colder than where I am, but wow, it is plenty cold here.
Gabriella's concierge reported that Mount Washington was -87 degrees this evening.  That is.... NEGATIVE/Below ZERO degrees.  If it was positive 87 degrees we would be saying we were headed for a heat wave......
Although we haven't missed a walk, and it psyches me up to take a walk, it is really really cold to be walking.  And for some reason the snow we have on the ground right now seems to like to nestle in our foot pads so we have been doing three-legged walking/hopping.  Good thing we are all so limber and able to manage.  Bertie and I seem to get the worse of it, but everyone is being afflicted to some degree.
I may be glad to take the walk, but I am really glad to get back from the walk and curl up on the couch and get toasty by the wood stove.  That is delightful.  It makes me very happy and snuggly.
In a few minutes I will head up and snuggle into a pre-warmed bed thanks to the electric blanket.  RIley joined us last night and I bet he will be with us again tonight.  It is that kind of night.
Well, long day for the concierge tomorrow (like yesterday, today and Friday) so I will let her retire.
May you have the sweet relief of familiar warmth after a bitter bout in the winter wind.
TTFN!

THe concierge tried to get a tighter photo with us, but then I got in the background and Snagglepus was cut out completely.
