Another one bites the dust....

Hi G-Fans!
Although the concierge isn't a 100% yet, she is infinitely better.  Now her helper is falling prey to the virulent virus that is the "worst cold ever invented" according to the concierge.  Not good.
The concierge still looks a little glassy eyed like those animals that get stitched back together and they use glass eyeballs in place of the original eyeballs, since the originals would shrivel up and sink in if they tried working with them.  You know what I mean.... don't you?
Anyway.....
We actually got a nearly full bog walk, the wind was whipping pretty hard as we neared the pond.  Very Cold.  Oh, did I mention that the concierge noted 35 degree weather whilst the snow came down for a good portion of the day starting around 8 a.m. or so....?  Yes, snow.....  What is this world coming to on the last day of March?
We also saw a rambunctious dog on our walk, but the owner actually leashed it up... go figure!  We continue to be surprised!
So, may you find happy surprised throughout your day that remind you to stop and smell the crocuses!

Dodging Drops

Hi G-Fans!
Well, we have been treated to a deluge today.  If this was snow, we would be buried I should think!
This morning was so bad we didn't go out after breakfast.  We ALWAYS go out after breakfast!
The concierge was waiting until there was a break in the downpour, and there wasn't one!  She finally forced us out because she needed to leave and she didn't want any "presents" upon her return.  What is the big deal?  Six inches on this side of the slider, six inches on the other side... really, what's the diff?   Close enough I say.  It isn't like we are getting any awards or ribbons for accuracy.  If we were, well then, perhaps that makes a difference.
When the concierge returned, and after lunches were eaten and odd ball chores were done, we went for a walk.  Funny thing, we dodged every wet drop.  We did a full bog walk and never got wet.  Within moments of returning from our walk, the skies opened up and it started coming down.  Timing is everything as I have heard the concierge say... she wasn't kidding today....!
So, my biggest gripe today is the late dinner.  The concierge strolled home to feed us at least an hour late.  Ridiculous!  I can't imagine anything important enough to make dinner worthy of being late.  Priorities need to be reviewed.  Toute de Suite!
I am still listening to the rain hit the side of the house and on the roof and I am glad to be inside by the wood stove.  Riley and Tessa hosied the prime spots, but I found a good spot that I didn't need to share.
Anyway,
May you find shelter in the storm that keeps you safe, warm and dry.

Me keeping a move-on....

Rain Rain Here you come.....

Hi G-Fans!
Well, the forecast for rain has come to pass.  It is wet and drippy out there!  The morning started out pleasant enough!  But before 2:00 little drippy drops started hitting windows.  Now it is a steady rain.  Luckily we nipped out for last outs about a half hour before it became so steady.  We were wet enough from our walk to last us until tomorrow.
We did a forest walk this afternoon which was great as usual.  There were some pretty heavy duty smells making us nuts in certain sections of the walk.  And even though the rain stayed pretty light, we got pretty drenched.
I have to say, the concierge continues to be an overall drip herself.  She slept after the walk for a long time - not typical for her.  It made our dinner quite late.  Not really acceptable, but we ate it anyway.  Not worth having a hunger strike over....
The concierge keeps saying she is going to take Riley and I to the Dr. for our check-ups, I will believe that when it happens. I know next week they have made plans to ditch us.
So, we will see.
So, not much else of excitement tonight.
I would rather get my beauty sleep than get into some of the complaints I need to lodge at some point.
Maybe tomorrow.
OK.
May you keep warm and dry amidst the raindrops of life.

Slow Going

Hi G-Fans!
The concierge opted to cut off my privileges last night with the promise that we would tackle my blog entry "first thing".  Now if making my breakfast (and for the others too), feeding the cat, making tea, pancakes and turkey bacon (of which none were shared with me - the tea I can do without) and picking the yard up of you-know-what before we sat down to do the blog constitutes "first thing" I guess I haven't been paying close enough attention to the language of these humans.  I thought "first thing" meant that we might. perhaps, go potty first and then write the blog.  Not a grocery list of things first and THEN the blog.
My bad!
Oh, and another thing, if after 9:00 a.m. is also considered "first thing" I need to reeducate myself on the timing of a day.  That seems like almost mid-morning to me.  Just sayin'.  I mean, isn't there only three hours left to the morning at that point?
Well, live and learn.
About yesterday.
We did a walk.  It should have been daylight, but it was really cloudy.  We went to the forest on a week day AGAIN!!  CRAZY!  The smells were out of the box!  I can't tell you everything we smelled, I don't think there are adequate words in your language to explain.  In the dog world that is an important area and we would have way more words to explain and describe smells if that was our main way of communicating.
The concierge believes that turkeys and deer were nearby on our walk which made us wild with excitement.  Our noses alternated between being plastered to the ground to lifted up in the air trolling for scent direction and intensity.
Oh, it was glorious.
It almost made up for two missed days of walks in a row.  I can never recoup those missed days, so it can never really be made up in my opinion.... lost opportunities that will never be realized.
Sigh.
Well, may you make the most of all opportunities coming your way....

610!! WOW!

Hi G-Fans!
Tonight is #610 entry for this blog.  Wow!  Unfortunately that is the most interesting thing I have to write tonight.  Two nights in a row no walk.  The concierge has improved, but she still has symptoms of being sick.  And now the helper is starting to succumb to the virulent virus.  Another weekend spent nursing someone.
Another weekend I am not getting proper care or attention.
Grrrrr.
The concierge rearranged her day today and took a slow start to her day, so we had several occasions to go out before she left.  Harry joined us and there were no grumblings from anyone.  It was nice and peaceful.  Which is lovely given the recent attitudes that have been flying around lately.  So much irritability!  Enough is enough.
So, there really isn't anything, I haven't even had an interesting dream in the last couple of days.
So, may you have greenery, blooms and scents of spring wafting through your being as Spring takes winter by the tail and leaves her behind.

The Big Storm

Hi G-Fans!
I will make this brief since it is cutting into my royal beauty rest!
The big storm was full of bluster and wind and looked wild, but ultimately it left behind some snow, but nothing too overwhelming.  We still have power so all my gadgets work (especially the water gadget, which is impo-tant!).
The concierge still struggles and wakes me up for a bit with that dang coughing and sputtering.
I wish she would do something to keep the noise down, it is so intrusive.
Anyway....
The most disturbing effect of this outrageous cold of the concierge is that she canceled tonight's walk.
Just because she thought getting adequate sleep trumped the fresh air.
Hrmph.
So, there you have it.
May your storms in life bluster more than bite.

We Wait....

Hi G-Fans!
The fashion adjustment has remained in force, or enforce.....!
Anyhoo!
Today was sunny with initial cold air and some warm-up -with no hint of what is being forecasted to come.
I am snuggling in now in the inner sanctum of the royal chambers to wait out the worst of it, as I have heard to expect it, so we will see.
The concierge managed to rally and do a full day of work.  She reported to me that it was a force of will for a good deal of it, pretty much after the second visit and she did seven.  She said that the bed was calling very strongly to her, but she ignored the invitation.
We did get an evening school walk, not our latest, certainly not our earliest.
Very little in the way of memorable excitement.
So, we wait.
May you wait with the expectancy of thrilling new beginnings and with the confidence of familiar comfortable things.

There is Fashion Justice!

Hi G-Fans!
I know I should have a bit more sympathy as to why the concierge has changed evening attire for the third night in a row, but I am just too happy to report that she is now sporting black bottoms, blue bathrobe, blue striped top, with a reddish sweatshirt and black and white scarf (what can I say, she is sick).
I guess I still have some influence around here!
She insists it has nothing to do with my blog comments, I am hard pressed to buy that.....
Of course the slippers are still pink, but those are staples....
The question was posed today, "Why pink?".
The concierge replied that mostly due to gifts and some comfy looking sale items.  It was serendipity as opposed to a targeted goal.  OK, so now we know.
And thanks to profuse sweating I don't have to look at pink tonight!
What a relief.
Despite the concierge's contaminated and compromised state she took us on a full bog walk.  I think she really struggled and Raphael took it easy on her, as did I, but then, I usually do these days.
The fresh air was helpful, but also knocked her out as she collapsed on the couch to regain body warmth and whatnot.
I have been her faithful snuggle partner as has Snagglepus, everyone but Tess is taking turns, which is interesting as she usually can't resist a prone body on the couch as a lounging device...  Never know how folks react to sickness.
Well, may you maintain body warmth and healthy resistors to the bugs around you!

Down and out or not, I can't keep it to myself.....

Hi G-Fans!
Well, I know the concierge is really sick, and all she has done, aside from today's walk, is lounge around, sleep, shiver, and sweat....
But enough with the monochromatic evening attire!
She sweated so much she needed to change out of her magenta pink striped pants, mauve long sleeved top, magenta hoodie, cactus pink slippers and bubble gum pink bathrobe.
I was thrilled.  I figured we might go to a blue or purple theme, which would still go with the slippers, but at least change it up.
But no.
She couldn't decide between the grey and medium pink striped top with the baby pink long sleeved fleece or the baby pink fleece with the pepto bismal pink long sleeved top with the tiny black bow (yes, I notice these things).  She went with the latter.  She paired it with the matching light pink fleece bottoms with a vague white roses print, and of course the cactus pink slippers and fuzzy pink bathrobe.
C'mon.... really?
She could go with a blue bathrobe, or an ecru bathrobe.  Blue or grey or red pants.  And a multitude of tops.
What is going on around here?
Pink, first of all, just doesn't work for the concierge's skin tone.  It looks good on me, but not her.
And secondly, this is uncharacteristically bordering on obsessive.
So, she may not be able to defend herself tonight, but when she is better maybe she will enlighten us as to the pink penchant.
Aside from all that... we went to the forest for a walk, we did a tame version so no one was over stressed.
And... Another glorious day!
Oh, and apparently this expected snow, is for real.  10-16 inches are forecasted.
Cool!
Well, may the viruses in your life be short lived and only serve to strengthen you.
TTFN!

Please note the pink bathrobe and a sliver of cactus pink slipper and if you look hard, the magenta striped bottoms from yesterday....
Tessa is not bothered by the concierge's personal "decor"...

Forecasted for Rain......

Hi G-Fans!
I write to you with ebullience... The day was forecasted for dreary rain, and yes, we got some spitting droplets, but overall it was sunny and mild.... I think it hit 60 degrees!  WooHoo!  Spring is really here!  Although.... there are rumors of us getting a foot of snow next week in a Nor'easter.  We aren't sure if the concierge's helper is serious or is teasing.  The concierge hasn't checked on that info yet.  We will keep you posted on THAT!!
So, the concierge has another cold trying to take her out.  She is giving it a battle.  Lots of lotions and potions and fresh air today.  We went to the forest - AGAIN!  AND, what a walk it was.  I won't even complain that the 1:00 start time was more like a 4:00 start time.  But, plenty of sun, mild temperatures and adventures.  We off-trailed it again.  The concierge was a little dubious for a portion of the adventure as the helper zigged when she knew where the zag would take them.  But all worked together well and without incident and we got a great afternoon walk.
The concierge is now wrapped up and sipping tea as the light is slipping away.... I think an early turn-in is on our radar screen.  I would like to discuss her evening attire, but it is poor etiquette to work someone over when they are down and out... so I guess the pink issue will be shelved for another time.
So, may you get a balmy surprise that brings you new adventures....
