Hi G-Fans!
Have you ever seen these rock formations? They are in a place called The Black Hills of South Dakota, USA. I have never been there. I have never seen them. Smelled them. Licked them. Or felt them beneath my toes. But I have seen pictures of them. Why do humans feel the need to make monumental images of themselves? Wouldn't a sculpture of something more endearing be a better subject? Like cookies. Giant cookies. Or liver. Those would make infinitely more appealing subject matter.... really, I am serious!
Anyway, I would like to inform you that the concierge did a reasonable job making up for the last two days of misery. We went on a ride to go to the state forest for a walk. We didn't see any sculptures. We didn't see much of anything because we went at dusk. But, that is an intoxicating time of day to take a walk. The smells flood my brainpan (they seem sharper and more concentrated at that time of day) and the sounds are a raucous cacophony that add to the exhilaration. Crickets, peep toads, tree toads (they might be the same thing?), bats, nocturnal critters starting their "day" and the "day" critters settling in.... it all makes my head spin. If the concierge talks she sounds like she is in a tunnel far, far away. I almost can't hear her. In addition to a nice walk she broke out the stuffed toys. A lot of them! In fact, it looked like Christmas. In fact, I think some of them were FROM Christmas!!!? Anyway, we made sure several were given new waistlines. The room looked like Christmas. White puffy stuff everywhere!!! Riley is a surgeon. With a laser accuracy quickness that is out of sync with his age, he de-squeaks a toy in 45 seconds or less! No kidding! Bertie, of course, stuffed as many in his mouth as he could and Tessa hoarded and guarded as many as possible. Raphael tried to take the floppy bunny to the state forest. I, of course, remained cool, collected and calm. There are no pictures of me pouncing on Christmas ducks, or trying to steal the toys in Raphael and Bertie's mouths (thievery is the best part of the fun!).... I know there aren't any because I checked the cameras before I wrote this.... there is nothing recorded.... so I am good!!! I have plausible deniability!!
So, a relatively good day I would say.
May you dream of cookies in your monumental sleep place....
TTFN!
-G
