Robbed!

Hi G-Fans!
I've been robbed!
No walk today and very little 'me' time with the concierge at lunch.  I blinked my eyes and there she was and there she wasn't... Very unsatisfying!
It has been a dreary, drizzly day on and off all day.
The concierge got home before 8.
The walk was slated to happen after soup.
The soup I had to endure smelling it simmering all afternoon.
At 10:00 the concierge was winding up the meal... two hours.... really?  I eat in a comfortable 1 1/2 minutes or less, what could possibly take two hours.... really!?!
Then the party poopers kicked it into high gear..... lazing around losing more and more 'mojo'  The concierge was falling asleep at the counter.  Embarrassing!
So, no walk, but there were cookies.
And we are all relaxed.
And the concierge really needs to get some sleep so she doesn't toot her way into a marching band.  (yes, there are issues and she has been leaving vapor trails ALL day!  And she wonders why we sniff every time she returns home.....
So, may you be full to overflowing with blessings and no tooting!

6-bark alarm!

Hi G-Fans!
I am making this quick, since we had a late ending evening.
Another chilly overcast spring day ending in a walk to the school at a ridiculously late hour cutting into my beauty rest.
I am tucked in now - but I can't imagine why we weren't walked this afternoon while the concierge was home with us.  She could have done a walk instead of all that paper rifling and chit-chatting on the phone.  She says it was for work, but I am not sold.  She was pretty pinch-faced for most of the time - so maybe it was legit....
Anyway - The walk was uneventful, just a good opportunity to stretch our legs.
Aside from that I am lodging two complaints.  One, we were tortured with smells of food tonight cooking in the kitchen.  There should be a rule, if I can smell it, I should have AT LEAST a sample of it!  And secondly, the concierge had best stop screeching at me to hush!  I will sound the alarm whenever I see fit.  And I will make sure everyone else is assisting in that job.  The more frenzied barking at the neighbors doing their own business, the more they will get the idea that WE ARE WATCHING!  They should, in all fairness, know we are keeping watch on them.  We will sound the alarm at each coming and going, every sneeze, hiccup and breath they take.... it is serious business being on the neighborhood watch committee.  The concierge says being on the watch committee means we watch, it doesn't mean we sound the alarm.  I say, pshaw!!
So, may you be alert to the environment in which you live!

Back to Business as Usual...

Hi G-Fans!
Well, it is just another Monday.
You'd think so anyway.
It is amazing how it can be all parties and pie one minute and then back to the grind without missing a beat.
Rather disheartening.
So, I am sure you are wondering if there was an adequate walk tonight.
Why, yes, yes there was.
We did a full bog walk,,,, that is three good walks in around 24 hours.  That is impressive.  It shouldn't be surprising that we are all pretty mellow overall....
We had some surprising events on the walk including a loose dog, but it was the little black and white dog that actually listens to his/her owner and will return when called.  She/he was called.
Then there was a jogger.
But, the concierge had a trying day with unusual happenings, so I will end so she can retire with Riley and myself to the royal boudoir to rest the rest of clean consciences.  May you too :)

Paw-tee!

Hi G-Fans!
Well, today I included more old videos from last April.  Unfortunately I duplicated two of them and couldn't tell which ones are repeats.  So, you may watch the same one twice - sorry!
I am sure you are all wondering about last night's paw-tee!?!?  (THE BIRTHDAY PARTY!)
Well, dinner was delightful with chicken broth, giblets and the usual gruel.
The chicken parts were TASTEE!!
Then the humans ate in celebration of me (and Riley) and I slept through that.  No need to stay awake.  Also, I held firm on the no paw-tee hats, so no festive pictures today.  I suppose a picture of the heavenly pie would have been good, but it is gone now and no pictures!  The paparazzi was just off last night.
That's ok - I took a picture in my mind - as Harry's concierge would say.....
The best part was last out potty break so we could enjoy the pie and some cookies too.  Oh psyche!
Today, I almost forgot about letting you know how today went....
We did a full bog walk sans Riley because the concierges were in a hurry to make it to their late afternoon class and he can't kick it like he used to, he also makes frequent stubborn stops to smell things, which is relatively new for him.  I say stubborn because the concierge has to tug him away often while we are walking so we can continue a forward momentum. He never used to do that.
Ever.
It seems since his hearing has gone and his eyesight is diminishing he has begun to use his nose non-stop.  Makes sense, but can get annoying.
So, full bog walk for Harry and the four of us royals.
Then after supper we went to the forest for a walk!!
Yes, two full walks and I am very relaxed and content.
The smells, as always, were intense in the forest.
Tessa never came up for air.
It was lovely.
So, the videos, as I mentioned, are from last year, the daffodil pictures are from the other day.  I don't know what you will get from the videos as they transferred oddly and the concierge had trouble viewing them to verify they were right.  So, indulge me and enjoy!
Mostly they are Tessa running around like a nut and me chasing Raphael and attacking him (playfully)!
I hope you  can watch them and they aren't horribly washed out or pixel-y...
But if they are .... sorry!
So, may your moments be captured with clarity and thoughtfulness!

Birthday Party Coming Up !

Hi G-Fans!
Well, today was slated to be rainy so there were no plans put into place for cleaning.  Hallelujah!  We are spared another day for personal branding odor development :)
Even better, although there was an overcast cover to the day, the rain was minimal.  We walked in midday to the bog and everyone, in two shifts, got their share of walking in...
The first walk was an "all-white" walk.
Just white dogs, except for Harry, went on that walk.  And, we did get wet, but not soaked. And we had very little extemporaneous excitement.  Reports brought back from walk #2, the "brown walk", suggests several hiccups of minor excitement with mostly human walkers.  Apparently one walker appeared on both walks in a similar location.  We will have to keep our eyes on that one....
So, last night was suppose to be a birthday party for Riley and myself.  It was supplanted by a lobster run for the concierge and Harry's concierge.  Some nerve!  They came back smelling of lobster, drawn butter and french fries.  WIthout a morsel in sight to share....  Sick!
So, I have been told that tonight there will be giblets, liver, and chicken meat with dinner and then carob pie for dessert.  I am pretty psyched at the prospect!  The concierge was going to have party hats, but I said NO THANK YOU on that.....  I might change my mind.... we'll see....
Right now we are chilling while giblets cook, chickens bake and dinner is prepared...
May you have celebrations on gray days filling you with joy!

White tail

Hi G-Fans!
Well, another fabulous day of spring.  Sunny and brisk without yesterday's wind.
I got a full bog walk with Raphael sans any other interlopers.  Well, I take that back.  We had interlopers, but they were silent, just like last night.  Last night in the forest the concierge reported that she thought she saw a "car", but it wasn't in an area cars would be found and the concierge then realized, to herself, that she had witnessed the business end of a pair of White-tailed deer.  Tonight, on the way home, right before ascending the "mountain" she witnessed another exiting deer.  We could smell the deer on both occasions, but we couldn't hear or see anything.  The concierge had the advantage of being taller than us and having a different vantage point that was to her advantage.  To her credit she didn't lord it over us or anything.  But we sniffed like crazy trying to get a glimpse at these critters, but alas, to no avail!
Oh, Bertie and Tessa walked with Riley to the school.
So sad to be them!
It pays to train the concierge!
So, may you see and smell the finer events in your life :)

What's your style?

Hi G-Fans!
Another spectacular spring day AND we did a forest walk!?!  Amazing!
Now, not everyone likes to talk about poop styles, but, sometimes, it just has to be put out there.
Bertie has a poop style.
Really.
And he has led Harry to follow his lead...!
You ask, "Grace, what is a poop style?".
Well, in the case of Bertie it involves scruffy brush, hills and specific latitudes and longitudes!
His current favorite spot on one of our forest walks is on a steeply sloped embankment that is studded with low lying viney bushy growth that rubs his hind-end while he is going potty.
Now, it seems that Harry is preferring to go potty in the same sort of conditions.
What is that all about?
My motto is, "as long as it is in an authorized area (not in the house/indoors and not on a path), go!
Bertie will sniff... squat... .resniff.... squat... turn around... and eventually let it rip... but it is such a P-R-O-C-E-S-S!
Riley is so anti-process he will go and the concierge won't even know he went because he walks and goes.  No process whatsoever!
Tessa will let it rip almost anywhere, so she needs to be monitored as she will let a load loose right on the path... what does she think?  She's a coyote?  A horse?  An elephant?  Her poop is frequently referred to as an elephanticized poop!
Now, Raphael is a considerate pooper.
He will pull off to the side and go neatly in a pile.
No fanfare or lead-up, he just goes.
What style do you subscribe to?
May you find your style and may it serve you well!

Weary bones

Hi G-Fans!
Well, we have had all sorts of interesting weather today.  Foggy, sunny, thunder, lightning and rain and back to overcast with breezy spring evening air.
I, along with Tessa and the rest of the crew, was not so fond of the thunder storms.  It made me very unhappy.  But, it has since cleared up and we were able to take nice walk to the school this evening.
Well, the siren call of bed awaits.  I leave you with some pictures to peruse...
May you find rest for your weary bones...

Balancing Acts

Hi G-Fans!
Which is worse?  Being assured that a walk was imminent and then it never materializing?  Or... being told not to expect a walk and have all hopes of an interesting evening dashed before it is even underway?
A conundrum.
Well, the former is my story.
I was assured a walk would materialize after the concierge ate her evening meal.
And I waited.
And waited.
She ate, she gabbed, she had dessert, she had tea.
Then the coma hit.
Even though Harry's concierge was there to entertain the concierge she nearly fell off her high chair because of the food coma she was experiencing.  The walk was called off because the concierge was so wiped out.  She was fine before she ate.  So, it was something in the chocolate we suspect.  But, we may never know.
Now, since we called off the walk, we had to go out for last cookies and potty.
I was just as quiet as the rest of them.
So, time to retire for the evening.  I must get my beauty sleep don't you know!
May you find a happy medium between your needs and those of others.

Not one way or the other....

Hi G-Fans!
Well, nothing ever seems to be all one way or the other....
It was a gloriously sunny day, some breezes and blue skies.
A great start to the concierge's work-away-from-home work week, not that she gets much of an opportunity to taste it to any great extent.  But, even a nibble is better than nothing....
Lo and behold, she was home before dinner time!  And although she was happy to be home for a good forest walk, it was because so many people had issues in getting to their appointed times....
So, mixed blessing.  Not one or the other.  Not good, not bad....
As Harry's concierge hates to hear,
"It is what it is"...
So, we had a long forest walk that was full of mysterious delights.  Oh the smells that made our noses twitch!!  And our leashes strained and the caused the concierge to tell us to knock it off and to stop pulling....
The downside was that we didn't get home until way after supper time.
That made my stomach queasy.  I wasn't very interested in dinner.
The concierge knew before dinner was even served that I was on a hunger strike path.
She unceremoniously and without permission shoved antacid liquid into my mouth.
And not just a little bit either!
But, I still found dinner to be unappealing.
I decided I would eat the egg she prepared for me and then the whole house passed out.  Pins could be dropped and they would have sounded like a flute clattering to the ground....
The concierge offered the dinner to me again, and I still found it unacceptable.
So, I waited until last outs and cookie time.
I ate as many cookies as I could.
I was over my strike.....
So, may cookies save the day when you are down for the count.....

Happy Easter Thoughts

Hi G-Fans!
Well, I don't know about all this hoopla about some giant white bunny leaving treats.  I stayed up nearly all night and never even got a whiff of a bunny, giant or not.  And if the bunny comes  for us here, in the size the folklore suggests, all he would need to do is leave droppings, that would suffice for our treats!!  We LOVE bunny poop!!  And goose, and horse, and few others, but that wasn't what I was going to write about..... I digress....
First, I was going to say that I am sorely disappointed in the dashed expectations when I found no Easter basket waiting for me or anyone else in the domicile....!
I will say that we didn't get the usual lunch cookies today, instead we got a hearty bone-type treat that was very pleasant.  So, maybe the bunny came after all, just delayed in arrival....?
Anyhoo,
When the concierge and helper finally returned from their afternoon excursion, they reeked of other dogs and cats.  So what I want to know is, where did OUR invitation go to???  Aren't we part of the fun???
It is disturbing to say the least.
Now, secondly, I can't complain too much because we got another forest walk.  And again, it was a good one.  On yesterday's we went to brand new territory and had excitement with a dog at the rangers station - but he was fenced in and we were leashed, so... all we could really do is trash talk back and forth...  The concierge was a kill-joy and hissed her disapproval at us and really embarrassed us.  What is up with that?  She is so 20th century!
Also, last night and tonight, we heard Whippoorwills.  It was fun to listen to them.
And according to the helper, we pulled the hardest we have ever pulled on tonight's walk. If you can believe it we went on ANOTHER NEW walk!!  WooHoo! This one was LOADED with smells.  The concierge is guessing that we were smelling turkeys, we aren't telling, but she MIGHT be right!  At any rate - it was awesome.  We could also see smidgens of both sunsets which was a tease both nights as they seemed to be colorful and vibrant, but we weren't in a position to get any full views either night...
So, may you be delighted with joyful events that eclipse anything non-joyful!!
TTFN!
