Halloweenie.....

Hi G-Fans!
Well, the concierge and I decided that we would rather try to sleep than write last night.  The night before my beauty rest was interrupted by hacking, choking and spewing so I was exhausted!
The concierge should really look into getting her own room when she can't be respectfully quiet at night, she really should do something about those hair balls of hers!  Some of us really enjoy our sleep!
So, last night she opted to be a little more respectful and slept in the family room, but, being the compassionate princess that I am, I wanted to be supportive, so I chose to also stay there.  I guess it worked out because I wasn't woken up until it was time to go out.  The concierge relays to me that she and the cats did have some awake time, but nothing like the night before.  So, even though today would be the one day she could get by being a full on grouch, she should be in better spirits than yesterday.
We aren't dressing up this year, and the concierge even considered canceling our role in Halloween, but, she did buy candy and those little smelly costumed beasts are expected to haunt my domicile for the evening.  As you may know, it is not one of my favorite holidays.
So, may you persevere and persist despite a lack of sleep!

Good treats go a long way!

Hi G-Fans!
Another Fall day.  Although the sun hid on us all day, it was still a comfortable sort of day with only a little drizzly rain at the end of it.  Nothing worth mentioning, although I mention it....
We walked in the school tonight after everyone stuffed their faces.
The concierge didn't run off first thing this morning so there was some interesting indoor activity.  Well, at least not the usual nothing indoor activity....
Again with the really tasty treats today.  I could get used to this!
I think everyone else is in agreement - the best yet!
Now, referring to good treats, what about Halloween...?
How do we stop THAT?
I do not want little stinky britches (yes, britches, it is a more engaging word that pants in my opinion) ringing my royal doorbell (actually, we don't have a doorbell, they have to knock..) looking and smelling like freakier versions of their usual selves.  And then they get treats for no apparent reason other than they come to the door and mumble some magic incantation....
I really hate having to be on alert all night.  It is exhausting.
I say dump the candy on the front yard and let them "find it", and what they miss I will get Saturday morning!
Sounds like a win-win to me!
I will submit that for the concierge's review tomorrow and see how it goes.
And, No, she isn't in charge and she doesn't get the last word, but she is the one with opposable thumbs who opens the door and the one who buys the candy, plus I have to let her feel in charge of something once in awhile..... it gets sticky around here otherwise....
So, may you follow your conscience and stand firm in your convictions!

A fungus among us....

Hi G-Fans!
Well, it was a rather nice day again.  No leisurely lunch as originally planned.  The concierge buzzed in and out of here so fast we had mohawks on our heads (That is, the wind from her breezing in and out made our fur stick up).
We did get some more of those delightfully yummy snacks, but we are getting spoken to harshly for being ruffians of the first order.  How dare she say such a thing!  She said Berite has gotten so wired up and ridiculous she has to hold his collar to calm him down and keep him from landing on RIley's back.  And don't get me started on Tessa.  She has got to get her act together.  The concierge was so irritated by her naughtiness Tessa almost got left behind on tonight's walk.  If it wasn't for the helper I wouldn't have laid a bet down on which way the leash was going.....
So, we are a bunch of banshee ruffians according to the concierge.
I say we are intelligent high spirited characters of a royal lineage.
I think the concierge is just grumpy from all her charades she has had to do at work and at home and she had to return to work after getting home early because she left stuff behind and had to go retrieve it,  grrr for her....
Let's hope she wakes up a hundred percent and no more voice problems., coughing, or otherwise annoying health issues.
So, when given the opportunity to relieve yourself, make sure you make a good effort to take advantage of the opportunity... it may mean the difference of being in trouble or not being in trouble.

Missing out...

Hi G-Fans!
It was a sunny fall day today.  No complaints in the weather department.
The concierge continues to stomp her feet, grumble and growl, and more so at 5:30 this morning when we were onto a creature in Harry's yard.  His concierge found the unceremonious poop it left for her and him to find.  The concierge had to stomp down the stairs hissing something at us.  We weren't listening.  Talk to the paw!  Everyone but Raphael snapped to and went in once our collars were being threatened to be grabbed.  Raphael couldn't stop.  But, I guess the creature finally moseyed on since Raphael finally came in so the concierge could carry on with her morning....
I think I heard some almost regular sounds coming out of her mouth tonight, so we will be hearing a stream of noise and demands soon enough.
So, may you use your commands wisely and only for the greater good.....

Quietitude.....

Hi G-Fans!
Well, it has been on the quiet side around here this weekend, aside from the stomping, grunting, growling, hissing and snapping... and that was the concierge.....
She has found quite a few ways to get our attention when she needs it.
I find it rather common for her to be jumping up and down like a court jester just because her voice is gone.  She manages to squawk and growl..... maybe she should just stick with that....
So, we did a bog walk with very little excitement.  We noticed the bogs filling with water and lots of berries floating to the surface.  Lots of good smells.  Oh, we walked right over a snake that Harry's concierge noticed (unhappily) and the rest of us missed.  We did get to watch it swim away in the water, that was rather exciting for the concierge.  Then we found a dead one around the corner on the way home, same size and everything.  It looked like a bird or a mower got it.  The concierge lagged behind with me, Riley and Raphael to investigate.  I thought that would be the perfect time to do a major roll-job in the dried up grasses.
Such delight.
So, may you weigh your words before they pass your lips....

Not Vampires!

Hi G=Fans!
Well, finally a nice day after all that dreary rain the last few days!
AND....
We DIDN"T walk in the dark!
We were not Vampires!
We had the sunshine on our faces and tickling our noses!
It was a fairly quiet walk because the concierge can't talk.
She's been like that since last night.
No yelling, talking, demanding, cooing or other methods of verbiage.  She is whispering, but sometimes we make a lot of noise and drown her out.
She will clap, whistle, click, cluck and tsk.....
It is fairly effective.  Bertie, however,  struggled when he ran out with a sweatshirt clamped into his teeth.  The concierge hissed at him and he struggled to listen.  She stomped and grunted and then took it out of his mouth.  He was on the cusp of flying down the stairs and listened enough to stay for a few moments, but as an observer I would not have laid bets on which way it would have gone.
We enjoyed a lovely walk to the bog with an extra jaunt down the gauntlet and up the dirt road before reuniting with the path.  We even talked to a plumber.  Whatever that is.  Harry freaked out, Riley sniffed him and I decided I would too since the plumber did not do anything to Riley.  Bertie barked his head off and we had to pick it up and reattach it.  (JK - the reattachment part, not the barking part - he is going around headless now in practice for next week! )  (JK - he isn't headless)
Anyhoo....
The concierge pretty much dumped us off and blew out of the driveway to go somewhere to learn about fishes, she does it every year.  She smelled funny when she got back, but not like ocean or rotten seafood..... so I am not so sure I followed the whole event...
And last night was bizarre.
The concierge dragged home late, ate and then instead of walking us passed out on the couch while the helper and Harry's concierge walked us for a minute and closed up the royal abode for the night.
The concierge was comatose!
Supine.
Insensate.
You get the idea.
She was unavailable.
Anyway..
May you get the rest you need to keep you healthy and circumspect.

Raspberries and Tickling

Hi G-Fans!
Well, I need to make this fast, everyone has faded and I don't have much time before the concierge melts....
FIrst of all - another rainy BLUSTERY day!
Secondly, who invented raspberries and why?
The concierge thought she was hysterical this morning AND tonight (talk about not letting it go) by giving some of us raspberries and tickling us.  Now I happen to enjoy a good raspberrying.  And some tickling.  Apparently so does Tessa.  I will tell you who doesn't.   Do you think you know?
Not sure if you can guess...?
By the way, do you know what a raspberry is???
No, not the berry that gets eaten.
How can I describe one?
I guess loud and raucous blowing of the lips and mouth onto the skin.....  I should look that up to be sure that is a way to describe it, maybe tomorrow.....
Anyway, I found out this morning that Harry HATES raspberries!
It makes him anxiously pace from room to room and jump a mile into the air when he is raspberried in a sneak attack...
Just sayin'...
So, aside from the concierge stopping in the rain tonight to try and rescue two wayward dogs without success, nothing else comes to mind to report...
So, may the raspberries in your life provide you with giggles and mirth....

GA-ROWTCH!

Hi G-Fans!
I write to you from the Royal Boudoir in hopes the massive grouch will calmly record my transmission and then go to sleep without further ado.  She has been unbearable for the last two hours.  GROUCH!
She has been snapping at me and Raphael, Bertie and Snagglepus.  I mean really, so what if Raphael is pacing from room to room with a bone in his mouth for an hour in a half.  He was making a point.  He wanted to tell the concierge that we want to walk despite the rain.  Repeatedly.  I wanted the treat once we got back in from the walk so I was anxious to get the walk underway as well.  Snagglepus is on a new whiny kick and will sit in the middle of a busy doorway so everyone has to brush by him and he will squawk that he is being touched by one of us.  The concierge is so beyond frustrated with that behavior.  She removes him from the spot so it isn't an issue and he marches right back to the same spot.  Grrrr.
Sometimes he swats at us, he startled Bertie today so much so that Bertie dropped the bone out of his mouth.  OOPS.
And of course there was the preparation for the walk.
The helper was flat out refusing to go, he has a thing about rain.  So he got a full measure of abuse.  Then Bertie got so excited, as usual, he was jumping around like a jumping bean without concern for others, in particular Riley.
Ultimately we got the stinkiest walk ever.  The second we stepped outside the lightning started, which shortened the walk to a quick jaunt around the block... with the helper in tow I might add...!
None of us were struck by the lightning, including Harry's concierge, which would make that #3 for her if she had been.
I thought the concierge was going to behave better when we got back, but she just continues her grumpy behaviors.
So, may you find a secluded spot away from those triggers for grumpiness, and GET OVER IT!

Is it Monday? Again?

Hi G-Fans!
Is it Monday again?
It feels like a Monday.
I am glad it didn't rain like the humans were discussing, it sounded horrid.  But, there's always tomorrow.
I know today isn't Monday, but it has the feel of a Monday.
Droopy and dragging.
The concierge blew out of here before breakfast was presented.  I am appalled!  What could she have to do that supersedes breakfast???
I did hear something about traffic and appointments, but really, before breakfast?
At least she had the helper step in so we didn't pass away from lack of sustenance.  We need our food!
Although, according to the scales at the vet, everyone has gained three pounds or more.... I say it is that peanut butter we have been getting to help Raphael and Tessa take those little pink pills so they don't shred themselves into a thousand pieces.  Of course if they get a treat - we all need to get the same.
That is the house rule!
Bertie is especially solid lately.
I suppose it is better than when we were all underweight this summer from that awful parasite we couldn't eradicate.
Wickedness!
Our walk today was a school walk.
Nothing extraordinary.
Except that we left poor RIley home because he was sleeping so soundly the concierge didn't have the heart to wake him - I volunteered, but she told me to leave him alone.  Of course, he was up when we got back and we all felt a little sheepish to have excluded him.  I think we are forgiven, but we will see.
So, may you weather your Mondays even when they occur on Tuesday!
