Rainy Sunday...

Hi G-Fans!
What a soggy morning!
It started last night and continued to noon.
Then we expected more and never got it.
But, because we expected to get it, we got a stinky walk.
Very low-rent.
The concierge and Harry's concierge didn't even do the bog.
Oh, they psyched us out and made us think we were bot-bound, but then they high-tailed it and turned around partway through the first leg of the walk.
Ridiculous!
On top of that we went quite a stretch in the morning without appropriate supervision.
I am just saying......
There was some morning baking going on, but I never sampled a shred or crumb of it, so who would know if it was any good or not....
Rude.
Harry's concierge and the concierge seemed to enjoy theirs with syrup, berries and butter... Maybe I would have as well had I been invited to join them.  Good thing I wasn't left in the kitchen at any point this past week.
There would have been a creative disaster!
No question.
What I did get included in (along with everyone else), was the concierge and Harry's concierge sitting on the couch right before supper time and making a lot of yakking and giggling noises that were very disruptive to what I was doing.  It takes a  lot of concentration to spot those walkers and cyclists through the deliberately obscured window panes.
Just sayin'.
So, may you see clearly despite your cloudy conditions.....

To Rant or Not to Rant....

Hi G-Fans!
Well, It wasn't the sort of day I expected.
The concierge lounged a bit with us after we got a VERY LATE BREAKFAST!
She seemed in no hurry to get our day underway.
I suppose it was due to her exhaustion which affected her ability to stay awake for two minutes in order to finish the blog entry from last night.
Ridiculous.
Anyway.
Sleep deprivation is involved.
Now, I would think something like cleaning would come.
But no, she shocked us all and took us to the forest for a morning stroll.
Now, how can I complain about that?
Other than the majority of the walk was on a paved broken down old road and we wanted to dip into one of the side trails.
It was overcast, but the rain did not start until around 10:30 this evening.
The concierge was not home at 10:30.
Ah, now the early walk makes sense...!
So, before leaving the concierge was doing a lot of gardening.  Good thing too, because like I wrote, the rain started and is expected to go on for a few days.  So, timing is everything!
So, I could rant on and on how the concierge and helper returned for lunch smelling like fish and didn't want to share what we had for snack.  I could rant on and on about being abandoned for the night.  But i won't.  It is late. I am tired.  And I can't complain that we had a walk in the morning for a change.
So, may you see the silver, gold and platinum lining in all events and situations.

Royal snoring

Hi G-Fans!
It was a beautiful Friday and ask me if I got to see much of it at all...?
Right you are.
I did NOT.
A perfectly gorgeous day and I spend it cooped up staring at the inside of me eyelids....
I was expecting a lovely bog or forest walk given that it was the end to another concierge human work week.
 Alas, not the case.
Another measly school walk, although, it was a very calm and quiet one since school is officially out for summer,
No Plays.
No Field day.
No Kid day.
The usual level of smells dropped to almost nothing....
So, I plan to stretch out on the royal lounge and  snore away!
May you do the same

Lightning, FIreworks and cookies....

Hi G-Fans!
Well, if it isn't thunder and lightning storms it is fireworks.
That makes us all soooooo happy!  Especially Tessa!!  She has hunkered down on the kitchen rug in front of the sink and the busiest area of the house.
Immovable.
Unmoving.
Move Not.
She plants herself.
Tessa DOES NOT like fireworks, thunder or other similar sounds.
No way.
No how.
Unh uh.....!
Which brings me to the perpetual motion concierge.... She has two speeds, "GO" and "NO GO"...
She is close to the "NO GO" right now, I am squeezing the last drops of the "GO Juice" out of her.....
She got pretty aggravated tonight.
I guess I sort of don't blame her, on one paw.
But on the other three, I say "Get over it!"
She baked some more of the oatmeal cookie dough that she made for a grilled cookie the other day.
She expected delightful perfection.
She got crumbles.
They stuck to the pan and she had to scrape them out.
I offered to help her, but she snappily declined the offer.
So, I say, get over it!
She ate them pretty heartily anyway.
So, May the loud noises in your life caution you appropriately.....

Summer Days....

Hi G-Fans!
Well, we had a stellar summer day after a night full of lightning and some rain, but not the tornado they were warning us about.... I am glad too, I don't want to be like those cows that get sucked into the funnel of the tornado.... that would mess my hair up completely!
So, I really thought I would be getting a daylight walk, but I didn't.
Instead, it was a stinky school walk.
The excitement was a police car looking for something.  We conjectured what that something was, but we aren't sure.
So, that really leaves me with not much else to share.
The concierge stayed with us for the morning today, but then blew out of here in a hurry.
Her to-do list was longer than the hours she had available.
So, may your list be short and your time be llong..=

Moving day.....

Hi G-Fans!
Well,
It is empty.
They are gone.
They have flown the coop.
The have left the nest.
No more baby birds.
And, as far as the concierge is concerned, no fatalities in the process!
So, the deck will survive another season with the scratching and digging of Raphael at an end.
It was a steamy warm sort of day.
The concierge has been driving our royal transport vehicle around and we haven't seen the other vehicle in days.
This seems to be displeasing to the concierge, as the other vehicle was to be picked up last weekend and it isn't looking good for many more days.
She is disappointed that people tend to be less than forthcoming on information and a little sideways on the honesty....
I would say I agree with her on that, although lying to a dog isn't much in demand, although I know people do it.
I am glad the concierge gives it to us straight.
Even when we don't want to hear it, we respect it.
The lightning has been constantly flashing over the last hour or so.
We didn't walk until after dinner and it was a short walk.  Really short.... because of the lightning for the concierge, because of the impending rain for the helper.....
No thunder, for which Tessa is particularly grateful...
The rest of us are right behind her on that!
We are waiting on Toto and Dorothy.
The concierge said they are coming for some red slippers.
I thought they were in Kansas....?
Something about a tornado watch until 11:00 and she expects them then....
Watch it for what?
Anyway....
May you weather the hot air in life...
'Nuff said...

Bunnies, baby birds and ....

Hi G-Fans!
Well, this one was pretty toasty today.
The concierge bugged out at the usual time this morning and arrived home tonight in time to walk the bog.... a full bog walk, complete with oddball obstacles.
Tonight the odd occurrence involved another dog.
We heard barking in the distance, but thought it was the echo over the water and that it was a dog we had seen and now it was excited about some geese or something.
As we round the corner toward the path home a smallish dog (thirty or so pounds as a guesstimate) without a tether or human calmly stared at us... we, too, remained calm, for at least a minute.  Then the barkfest started, but not for a long time, just a minute or so.  The the black and white dog then turned around and disappeared.  We never saw an owner anywhere and the dog vanished into thin air.....
So, that's our mystery for tonight.
Aside from bunnies, baby birds and other doings, not much to report.
So, may you guard your personal space diligently.

The concierge couldn't tell that this was a hummingbird moth, duh!

This one too....

And another view....

A really pretty dragonfly....

Another angle of the dragonfly....

And, of course, the coveted elicit peonies.....

Brief synopsis.....

Hi G-Fans!
Let's make this short and sweet (not really)...
The concierge ditched us all day whilst it poured outdoors.
We got a crappy nighttime school walk on the longest day of the year.
The concierge was crabby and tired when she finally dragged herself in through the door.
And she told tales of woe that I blocked out upon her return.
Maybe I will listen tomorrow.
She took some pictures, I fixed them up a little....
She said she missed some photo opps....
I don't care.
Maybe I will tomorrow.
Doubtful....
So,
May you love the ones you love regardless of their disapproving and dismissive attitudes...!

Beach Debris....

On-the-move view.....

This was just a white speck on the original photo......

This too was just a speck on the original....

This one is a Red Winged Blackbird.... it requires imagination to  grasp that......
even with my attempts to enlarge the bird figure...

Again the Red Winged Blackbird.....

Eeep. EEeeep, eep......

Hi G-Fans!
Well, another pleasant day.
The concierge seemed to be back to herself, but I stuck close to keep an eye on her just in case.  She was acting a little goofy, which I suppose is more about the norm than something I might worry over..
She was around in the morning and then ditched us for the afternoon, returning with a plethora of cat food cans in all shapes and sizes and smelling of lobster and a multitude of odors ranging from metallic smells to earthen smells to florals and other smells intermingling in there when she returned home to feed us dinner.... All those smells on the concierge were way better of a smell than what she smelled like yesterday and the night before.  Although I get lots of information from those sorts of smells, even I will admit the unpleasantness!!
We had a nice forest walk, although the last part wasn't so terrific, way too much macadam for the concierge's and my taste....
We saw a deer in the distance in one of the fields as we passed by.... The deer was busy doing something, but none of us could tell from where we were.  We offered to go check up on it more closely, but for some reason the concierge wasn't going for it....
 Go figure!
We got to see Harry's older human sister this morning.
Eyes to the sky because the concierge and Harry's concierge, AGAIN, went on the computer to show her pictures of all those cats!  I am sooooo disgusted by this act of disdain on the concierge's part.  It is just so rude and unnecessary!
I made my opinion quite clear as I turned my back on them while those horrid pictures were on the device.
Really, you know the concierge has way better things to do than something as useless as that!
It is such a blasted waste of time!
I hear that we are expecting rain tomorrow and I understand the humans are celebrating the Daddies of the world....
Hmph....!
Milo went MIA once the babies were out of the nursery.
Boys!
So, I try to deal with questions the 'younguns' sometimes have, but it is less and less each year.... it seems to happen.... If the time isn't spent with them when they are little, they tend to drift away as they age/mature.... it is the natural order of things.... wouldn't you agree?
So, may you honor your family and friends daily regardless of who they are in your life and what holiday it might be....

This is what all the hullaballoo has been about with Raphael.  The concierge is getting a little worried he will dig a hole through the deck boards to get to these little birdies..... He's pretty jazzed up about them....
That nest is looking pretty crowded.....
I think there may be some first time aviators in the next few days....
I was very busy this morning checking out some foliage....

Bertie was investigating his doggy brushing system....

Emerging from his brushing area....

Raphael is wondering why he can't catch the camera's flash (it wasn't even on....)

The peonies we aren't allowed to check out.......

Peace at last!

Hi G-Fans!
Well, sorry to skip out on you yesterday, but I had no choice.  The concierge was in NO shape to assist me on my blogging.
We finally have peace tonight.
At 7:00 p.m. she started drinking an innocuous enough looking concoction... Which created a face on her that could be described as a death mask grimace.... The Joker from Batman looked relaxed compared to her.  She did choke it down and then took us for a walk around the school even though it was still quite bright out.
She muttered something about keeping it close to home "just in case".
Nothing out of the ordinary occurred on the walk and we made it home so the concierge could drink a lot of water and put her p.j.'s on.  A few minutes later she shot up off the couch moaning and talked non-stop to herself on her way to the bathroom..... this is where it gets to the censored part of the story.  What happened next no one should have to witness or experience.  The remainder of the story goes on until 7:00 a.m. and it includes showers, changed shower curtains, laundry, changed p.j.s, gagging, vomiting and napping with the cat in a compromised situation.  Then off she goes for a few hours only to come back smelling like the vet minus the animal smell.... and sporting lots of extra plastic bracelets.....
Now she keeps grunting about being hungry, but not able to eat - kinda like Snagglepus only she could find the food without help.
And about Snagglepus.  He continues to provide me with illicit leftovers whenever possible.... Sometimes we can't coordinate, it is a work in progress.  The concierge is still talking to him when he is talking too much and she asks him kindly not do it and desperately opens can after can of food in hopes of quieting him down AND finding him something palatable....He is leaning toward the junk food much to the concierge's horror!
Anyway, she is nodding after losing sleep from last night...
So, may you past life's tests with dignity.

Singing Barriers and other things

Hi G-Fans!
Well, it was another lovely spring day, albeit grayish, but very comfortable for anything today:)
Ask me if we did anything of interest on such a great day,
Go ahead, ask!
Did you ask?
Well, if you did, the answer would be a resounding,
NO!
We layed around like a bunch of lazy fat cats and had Harry to join us.
Wait, I forgot, we did some choir practice without Raphael because he was upstairs lounging.
No, wait....
That was yesterday.....
That was fun.
The concierge was trying to break through our singing barrier and she couldn't.
When will she learn?
When?
There is no penetrating the song wall with us.
No how, no way!
It was nice to stretch our vocal chords.
It is important for us to keep in tune and in singing shape.
Aside from the concierge's trauma-packed day, all things are status quo.
May you keep in touch with your lighter side of being and exercise it regularly!

Scars into Stars.....

Hi G-Fans!
Well, it was a drizzly gray day again.
The concierge hung around longer than usual, but we didn't benefit a whole heck of a lot from it let me tell you!
Instead of adoring us, or walking us, or doing some interactive game with us, she focused on the computer.
And, again, she was looking, in my opinion, at inappropriate sites.
For some reason she thinks that I don't notice.  She's the one who doesn't notice.  Did she notice when I sat bolt upright yesterday when she was cooing over the pictures of the French Bulldogs, St. Bernards, English Bulldogs and Bernese Mountain dogs?  Because I did.  Today it was all about the Savannah, Maine Coon, Ocicat, Bengal and Toyger....  Craziness in any language!
Especially given that she was looking at cats instead of dogs this time!  Double rudeness!
Again, I write, does she not get that I should be her main focus with only a cursory glance at everyone else in this house?  Do I not withstand the sickening attention she gives Raphael, Bertie, Tessa, Snagglepus and Sophie?  I mean, what do they do to earn THAT??  I just don't get it...!?
So, with that expressed, I will say that we did get a walk this evening, it was to the school in the dark since the concierge didn't get home until late.  It was better than nothing, but marginally.
So, may you turn your scars into stars on a daily basis.....

Spilling the beans....

Hi G-Fans!
Well, it was a dreary, wet, drizzly sort of day.  I don't think the temperature got very high around here.
That's ok, we were cozy and comfortable and dry.
Now, there is some stuff that happened here tonight that I believe is best left unsaid.  The concierge, on the other paw, disagrees.  She thinks I will deal with it more efficiently if I spill the beans.
I don't like beans, but that doesn't mean I should spill them.
I mean, how long do I have to endure endless picture surfing of Mastiffs, St. Bernards, Bernese Mountain Dogs, Maine Coon Cats, Raggamuffin cats, Snow Shoe Kitties, Ocicat, Toyger and one other kitty brands.
Shouldn't she spend her time gazing lovingly at me?  Not some electronic wannabe.....
And I am pretty sure they wouldn't have even a low-grade example of a Spinone.
Much less a high class example...
I should be that quintessential "poster child" Spinone!
So, with that being expressed, I think it makes perfect sense that I peed right in front of Harry's concierge right before our walk right in front of the sliding glass door.....
I made my point.
And, I made it perfectly clear.
Don't you think?
Yeah, I guess she was right, I do feel better...!
Anyway...
May you live with the disappointment of other's decisions with grace and love.....

Teeth, ears, toes and woes......

Hi G-Fans!
What a day!!!
It started normally enough.  For a Sunday.
The concierge raced out of here in the morning, stayed away for a bit, came back with plants that I am not interested in eating and smelling of lots of other people.  The same people smell she has almost every Sunday.
And then there was lunch.
Again, nothing out of the ordinary.
We were very expectant since it wasn't very humid or hot, we were hoping for an afternoon walk.
The concierge got her gopher clothes on, but then never dug any of the holes or planted any of the plants.
She did, however, take a left turn on my day!
First it was just our monthly chewable medicine and the monthly repellent we get.
Then it became something else entirely.
She started with our nails, moved onto our facial hair, then our ears and lastly she scraped the tartar from our teeth.... Tessa's were the worst, mine were the best.
Tessa acted the best, I was the most squirmy.
And why shouldn't I be?  Can I ask you that?
Why shouldn't I be?
She is dragging a sharp metal object across my teeth and occasionally my gums.... drawing blood at times.
There is a reason anesthesia was invented and dental assistants have jobs.
Just sayin'....
I am not swayed by the fact the concierge used to do that to other dogs and cats....
They WERE under anesthesia!!
It isn't right.
So, despite the sneak attack by the concierge, she made it up with a great evening forest walk.  We saw Lady Slippers, but no wildlife was out in the open, but we were smelling some fierce smells....!
So, may you recover from a tough experience in your day with ease :)
