The last of the year!?

Hi G-Fans!
Well, if we haven't gotten to it for the year, we are pretty much out of time.
Remake the list and reorganize the priorities....!
So, today we were orphans.
The concierge left late according to her time table, but it was early by any other standard unless you own a coffee shop and open up every morning.....
She was gone with Harry's concierge before our breakfast, although the birds and cats were fed before us!  Figure that one out!
According to her reports she still got to all her appointments this morning on time, even with going to wrong departments, buildings and so on... she was still on time for all of it.... so it worked out fine.   It helped that all the schools are on vacation.... it didn't help when they met with the rest of Harry's clan and interlopers.  They all converged at the same place....!  So, she had appointments which are bad enough, then she voluntarily stayed to galavant about for sight seeing and lunch..... unbelievable!
At least we know the helper loves us!
He rescued us from our orphan state.
Thank goodness!
We did get a walk, a school walk.  It was pretty cold.  Riley wished he had opted to stay home by the fire.
When the concierge learned it had only been 15 degrees on the walk she wished she had decided to stay home as well.  She doesn't like taking us in that much cold for a walk.  She thinks we can't handle it....  We can handle it... we would just rather have treats and not....!
Not!
That's right, a double negative.  One negating the other.  Making it a positive.  Right, we would rather walk in the cold than stay home.  We wouldn't mind if there were more treats involved on all levels.... but we rarely prefer in to out... but I guess we like both :)
So may you wrap up your year with pleasantries and kindnesses:)
Happy New Year!

Young and Old alike enjoy their fun!

Hi G-Fans!
Well, what an eventful day we have had today!
Where to begin!!??
I guess, due to time, I will stick with our walk thrills.
Today was very exciting.  When we got to the top of the trail to the bog this afternoon the helper noticed a funny pattern in the trail.  Just about the same time our noses went to the ground with extreme prejudice!  The helper noted that the first few hundred feet of the trail had tire marks of some kind, bigger than a mountain bike, but not a four-wheeled vehicle.  And where that stopped was where the dragging markings stopped on the other side of the trail.  The helper surmised something had been dragged, and more than likely that something was a deer.  Our noses concurred.
More and more evidence surfaced as we walked down the trail.  Blobs of clotted blood flooded our noses.  Even Riley was hot on the scent trail.  He may be old, but he isn't dead!  He was having some fun!!
The dragging marks continued and the smells continues.  And then there was a huge bunch of innards left in a demarcation in the ground underneath a tree.  The concierge wanted a closer inspection, the helper was getting a tad green and we were on go-juice... so there was only a cursory glance at what was more than likely the gutting remains of "the kill".
The concierge says she is REALLY glad none of us had to witness any of the gory details.
I am not too sure.
It sounds tantalizingly awesome to me.
Oh, now I am making the concierge green.
Well, suffice it to say, it wouldn't bother me in the least and it would be an excellent adventure in my opinion, aside of course,  from the loud sounds the guns make.
SInce we were walking late afternoon the helper suggested we go a different route back to the royal abode.
He didn't fancy stepping in any of the bloody blobs on the way back in the dark.
So walking a new way was very exciting too.
Walking another way home made Raphael stay on high alert and pulling hard the entire walk.  That made the concierge a tad irritable.  Too bad.  So sad.
Anyway, I would like to mention that the sunset tonight was delightful with pinks, grays, blues and oranges.  So pretty.  Maybe I will get the concierge to include a picture tomorrow.
So, because the concierge has a really early morning appointment tomorrow, I will end, but there is so much more to share.
Anon....
May you know your limits and act accordingly.

Still Celebrating Christmas....

Hi G-Fans!
We continue celebrating Christmas here... although it seems I am not getting included in all the festivities....
The concierge left tonight with the helper and several shiny and crinkly packages to continue the Christmas festivities with Harry and his minions.  Harry, with only minimal assistance, managed to open his own package.  Now mind you, he is perfectly capable of opening packages independently, but if he acts too savvy, he will be targeted whenever there is a question about things going awry.  I taught him better than that... don't let them know to the degree of how capable you are..... keep them guessing.....!
Harry gave us some fun treats and Raphael and Harry both got some coal due to behaviors this year that were fairly heinous.  Tessa should have gotten coal too, and Bertie for taking off last spring.  Tessa especially  for being gone for so long.  But I guess Santa disagrees with that.....
Anyway....
It was dreary and overcast and drizzly today.... much like we have had recently....  But even with that we got a forest walk today.  It was much less eventful than yesterday, the concierges all sigh a "thank goodness" on that one!  There were a couple of bicycles, but avoidable luckily....
Oh, right, there were three motorbikes in the forest.  We had to step off the path or we would have been flattened....
No Kidding....!
They were not suppose to be riding the trails... but what do I know?  I am a dog after all....
So, the remainder of the day has been low key.... Like I said, there were celebrations I was unincluded
So, may you celebrate every day with the spirit of Christmas!

Fractiousness....

Hi G-Fans!
So, let's start with the sun.  We had it all day.  It was a sunny mild winter day and we took advantage of it!  We begged to go out like a zillion times and then came in so we could go out again and have the excitement all over again!  To top it all off, we did a forest walk mid-afternoon.  We didn't push the daylight limits today.
But, there were other issues.
First, there seemed to be too many humans on our walk today.  The usual concierges and helper, but then one of Harry's two-legged sisters came and she dragged another two-legged with her!  We ignored him pretty much.  We pretended we didn't even notice as he was following us the entire time...!  We had way more interesting things to work out during the first half of our walk anyway, so that made it easier!
Since it was Saturday there is hunting.
Since there is hunting we all wore orange scarves or vests, humans included, except the interloper....
Since it was Saturday and there was hunting there are certain areas many people decided to walk their dogs because it is relatively off-limits for hunters.
Did I mention that the weather was nice too? So... Add it all together and you have a situation.
First, the concierges and helper wanted the interloper to get a good look at the forest.
So, they chose a scenic walk.
Apparently, so did about a hundred others and we ran into at least fifty of them....!
We kept hauling off the path to let them through and then we would go bezerko.  This was our way of telling these walkers how much we are interested in sniffing them and drooling on them...  Harry was particularly enthusiastic in his communiques with the other walkers (personally I think he may have been showing off to this new addition to our walking entourage)....
Harry's concierge had to sit on the ground just to keep him with our group.  Silly Harry.
Bertie, Raphael and myself weren't too lackadaisical in our attempts either, it is just that our concierge can really bark back at us.... No, I mean she really can.....!
Just sayin'
So, because of our relentless behavior there was a switch-to in the route planning and the second half of the walk was much less loud and rambunctious and fractious....
Again, just sayin'....
So, may the sun shine upon your countenance and fill you with radiant expectation....

This should be how all our meals are served around here, this is someone else's meal (Gabriella's cat, LG, gets her meals served as depicted above... I am waiting for my silver platter presentation...!)

Happy Boxing Day!

Hi G-Fans!
Well, there was this thing in the sky today.  It made us all squint!  I think it may have been the sun!!!!  We had a nice, clear and sunny day today!  Wahoo!  No soggy doggies :)
I thought we were getting a forest walk and we were going in the morning.... WRONG!
The concierge couldn't seem to keep her mojo focused this morning and was verrrrrry late for a verrrrrrry important date!!  Luckily she finally got her gears to work all together and Harry's concierge came to help.  So, all the projects projected to be accomplished - were...!
Now, we have some clean up to do.  The concierge threatens almost daily that she is going to teach us to mop the floors and dust surfaces.  She said she has seen things that can attach to our feet and tails....  I told her that it was rather demeaning to consider that an appropriate task for the royal family.... just sayin'!  She may find a whole new level of scenting skills unfold if she pushes the issue.
Again, just sayin'...
So, we did walk, it was a full bog walk, Harry attended along and a couple of us got a bit bent out of shape over a little white dog in its yard loose and a group of walking people without dogs....
Really bent out of shape......  I think there was something else we got worked up over too.... oh.... right.... there were three adults conversing at a mailbox... ohmydog!  That sent a couple of us over the top nutsos!
That created some terse words and strained faces with the concierges in attendance!
They get so uptight, we are just having an excuse to test out the Bay of the Baskerville Hounds barking techniques we have been checking out online when no one is around....
Oh - and apparently we thought the concierge was gone the other day and we were having a couple of choir practices... we sounded GOOD!  The concierge laughed at us - we are very hurt by that - she just doesn't appreciate good chorale music!
Just sayin'!
OK - so may you sing like no one is watching or listening..with all your heart and all your soul!

Again, Merry Christmas G-Fans!

Again - Merry Christmas G-Fans!
May the Christmas spirit fill you to overflow and last you until next year!
I am sure you are curious about our activities in the royal kingdom over the last two days...
Well, there is a lot to discuss and it is late and it has been a long day for some of us.....
But, I think the concierge can manage to remain for a few minutes in royal company.  If she hadn't been galavanting on and off for the last two days she might have more energy and we could have written this sooner (and it may have gone differently in content.... just sayin' in advance!)...
So, let's start with the weather.
It rained and rained and rained!
It didn't really stop until noon time today or thereabouts.
We actually saw sun part way through our walk and we were a little blinded by the shine, especially with the pavement still wet from the rain!
So, yesterday it was 62 degrees at one point, and it got close to that today!
Now, how is it that at Thanksgiving we were sloshing around in frigid temperatures and snow and at Christmas we are splashing in dreary rain with near tropical temperatures?  Well, regardless, yesterday the concierge took a break from her rigid wrapping regimen to leave for several hours.  Apparently there were presents, candlelight services and dinner somewhere elsewheres..... Then back to a little more wrapping until she waved the white flag and went to bed only to wake up too early to finish another phase.... then off again, then back, then gone, then back and then pjs!  When the pjs go on, I know she won't ditch us again for the evening.....
Now, I know I am being a little misleading.  I am making it sound like we didn't get any walks.  That isn't true.  We did.  Now today we went to the bog and did a partial.... there was a tight schedule to be adhered to and we suffered in the catch up part for timing... the full loop remained a brass ring.....
Yesterday, I will admit, I almost can't remember if we did a school walk or a bog walk... but based on the the less than friendly and non-indulgent glare I am getting at the moment from the concierge I guess it was a full bog walk.  With her prompting I recall that we sloshed through rain, muck and puddles and did a full walk.  We did run into one stalwart soul who also loves their four-legged family member enough to brave the less than stellar weather.  The good news is that "sugar pants" (the nick-name for the helper during the rainy season) did not melt!  He tried to shorten the walk because the rain was picking up.  I gotta hand it to the concierge, she teased him adequately so he continued on and completed the walk.  I guess I have taught her at least one or two things!  But, we were all soaked upon return and needed that full room Spa/blow dryer/automatic dog wash conveyer belt the concierge keeps promising us!
So, I will release the concierge on that note....
Again, may the sprit of Christmas shine through you and touch all who you meet until next year.....

The Christmas Aftermath.....
"
Per Sophie:  "Oooh - I am in!  It is all crinkly paper and shiny ribbon!!!  I love crinkly paper and shiny ribbon!!"
"My work here is done, I have left a wake of devastation and debris for others to pick up after my departure!!!  Perfect!!"

Christmas Eve day coming up......

Hi G-Fans!
Another dreary drizzly day.  Even though the concierge was home most of the day, we still got a cheapo school walk.  What is up with that?
The concierge has been chugging along all day, but I think she would have been well served with a nap like we had.  She was a bit terse with us.  All of the sudden our enthusiasm for treats is unacceptable and she is ignoring us when we excitedly jump around like jelly beans trying to get the first treat and perhaps steal one from one of our competitors.  She says she is done with that behavior and that there will be modifications made forthwith.  And enforced.  I say "Pshaw"!  What is wrong with a little rowdy enthusiasm anyway?  She says we remind her of the baby seals she used to help feed at five in the morning every Sunday.  She said they would try to rip out the tubing from their neighbors throats so they could get the food first.  She said it was bedlam.  She said that they had an excuse for their behavior.  They were wild.  Not domesticated princes and princesses.  I say, "Pshaw" in your general direction and stop talking and fork over the treats!  NOW!  We got another sample of the home made cookies tonight.  Oh MY~  They are TAS-TEE!  Worthy of some twirls and jumps and knocking over the competitors!  Even if they are my kids and elderly friends....!
I will see about circumventing the sharing of these covetous treats for Christmas.... I really should continue to inspect them thoroughly for quality assurance purposes..... I would hate to give them away and find there was a flaw of some kind with them....!?!?
Wish me luck!
And even though the concierge was home most of the day, she left right after we were fed and got home pretty late!  Ridiculous if you ask me!  And pretty shameful....
What if Riley had more diarrhea like yesterday and this morning?  Who was going to help him out if she was out galavanting about......
Deplorable....!
So, may the Christmas Spirit glow from within and may you share it freely with all you encounter...
