Hi G-Fans!
I don't have a lot of time to get this out, but I didn't want you to all worry.
The big blizzard has left my royal home without power, water, heat and most importantly, internet service.
So, since July, I have missed my first submissions and not due to a lack of material.
So, not to worry, I am fine, my family is fine, we are basically camping indoors.
The snow has been glorious and deep and beautiful.
We did our first snowshoe walk today.
It was ok, but I wonder why there weren't more pairs to go around... shouldn't I have had four of them?
You might wonder why I am able to write now.
The concierge is at the sitters domicile (her father) and she is using his showering facilities and internet.
It is so disappointing that she decided to take a shower as she was starting to take on a real character of smell all her own...
So sad.
Anyway, I told her what I wanted her to write ahead of time.
To keep warm we are heating the royal home with a wood stove, which she has also cooked scrambled eggs and warmed bagels on and keeps the kettle of water going...
The eggs and bagels smelled interesting, but I wasn't invited to sample, so I can't tell you for sure what they ended up tasting like...
Go figure.
The birds are now living in the family room with us as well. It is making Harry crazy. Everyone else is handling it fairly well. Including the birds.
So we are very cozy.
Not crazy, cozy. (But maybe a little crazy)
So we have had some adventures in the last few days....
Harry decided to investigate the neighborhood at 3:00 in the morning during the height of the storm.
Luckily his concierge realized something was amiss very quickly, followed his footprints out of the gate (a tree limb had fallen on it and pushed it open), and gathered him toute de suite.
His other concierge went out and chopped the branch up at that crazy hour so the gate could be closed again...
Tragedy, once again, averted. Yay!
I know there is more, but I am soooo sleepy after the snow walk and playing in the deep snow.
So, may all your unexpected adventures be manageable and victorious :)
TTFN!
-G
(Sorry, no pictures tonight, it will have to wait until the concierge can use her own machines with all the pictures we have been taking in the last few days...)
P.S.- I will be very happy when everything returns to normal and the concierge is back up in the royal chambers to sleep and not on the couch in order to stuff the insatiable woodstove every two hours throughout the night.....!
What an adventure! I hope that you get your electricity back soon - glad dad has his and you can partake as needed.
ReplyDeleteHow did the dogs' paws do in the snow? We went out snowshoeing too for a couple of hours and G was done, done, done. Kept having to get the balls of snow out (even after using Mushers) and they were sore. We were all pooped!
