Hi G-Fans!
Well, another day at the Kingdom.
Today we did not play laser tag. We did not get a walk. And we look to Raphael for the reason why.
This morning the concierge was getting ready for her day as per usauale, and she noticed Raphael doing a little more licking than he would normally. And he seemed to be focused on one area.
So, after a few minutes of observing him she investigated.
On Raphael's left front paw she saw what the issue was...
His thumb nail was totally missing.
Where his toe nail should have been was a raw opening that I won't say more about because it is just too gross.
Raphael grumbled on her first perusal, but relaxed on the second go 'round when he realized she was being gentle and administering ointment.
Which he promptly licked off.
Which the concierge was pretty sure he was going to do.
So, she applied the ointment a second time and put a special self-adhering bandage like they use on horses and after we have blood taken at the doctor's (I have heard it called "Vetwrap"....).
Which he promptly removed.
Which the concierge was pretty sure he was going to do.
So, she left it open to the air.
We will see how that goes.
So, we don't get a walk because it will be across the hard crusty snow and same goes for laser tag.
So, we get the shaft because he jumped the garden fence and ripped the nail out of its bed.
Or so I have heard that as conjecture. The other theory goes that he did it playing intense laser tag last night.
Either way I don't get my walk.
I am royally annoyed.
The concierge should really find a suitable indoor substitute for these sorts of conditions. We can't stay cooped up like this forever you know! Rumor has it we have been invited to the Pennsylvania farm to romp. I would really really like to do that. After the week [month (s)] the concierge has been having, she is about ready to pack us all up and ask that we all get adopted, including her! I think Harry and his concierge would join that bandwagon!
So, if there is the equivalent to the tooth fairy for toenails I will go outside and look for Raphael's nail. It would totally be worth it. I hear the toot fairy pays big bucks these days. I only got a treat... not the big money that the tooth fairy gives out now. I can only imagine what a whole toenail fetches!
Did I mention that the concierge can't make us cookies right now?
Why you ask?
Because on the same day she got the dislocated disc in her back (which, luckily, is better, especially since she shoveled so much snow this weekend) her silver box that makes things hot blew up. So how many appliances and household items does that make in the last 4-6 months that have failed?
The concierge that is not helpful thinking and I shouldn't take that sort of inventory.
But, I like to take stock.
It is what I do.
The littler box that heats things up blew up a few months ago, the cylinder thing that makes water warm disintegrated, the main water pipe blew a hole, several little water leaks in the pipes, another slow leak that has been looked at three times by two plumbers over the last few months continues to leak, the oven is currently blown, and then we have, of course all of our things like Raphael's freak tooth thing, his somewhat freak nail thing, our sitter's physical meltdown with attending other meltdowns, and on the list goes. I am getting bored now so I will move on...
There is snoring that needs to be done.
Don't get me started on bed positions...!
That is a whole other entry!
So, for tonight, you are left with this thought...
It isn't what goes awry that we need to focus on, it is dealing with it and moving on...
We are working on that....
I'll get back to you on how it goes.
Enjoy some more storm related pictures.
TTFN!
