Achluophobia
Hi G-Fans!
Achluophobia? You ask?
Why would I discuss such a phobia? Well, fear not. I plan to tell you!
And, contrary to current pressures, I am not going to write about Riley's new burping routine
which occurs like clockwork. Within two minutes of completing his meal he nows burps loudly before getting to the door to go outside. No kidding. A real belcheroo; eructate; eruct; bolk; rout; ruck. If we were Akitas, Shiba inus, Hokkaido inus, Shikoku inus, Kai inus, Kishu inus or Tosas perhaps it would be a compliment to the chef. But, we are not, so it is just old man rudeness, I fear. (I checked to see if there was a phobia for bad manners, but I didn't find one).
Luckily, given the amount of bathing we receive around here, none of us, aside from the concierge, experience Osmophobia or Osphresiophobia. Body odors are the aphrodisiacs of the dog world.
It is a Fear of darkness.
There is also a fear of dark or night (Nyctophobia) or being in a dark place (Lygophobia).
Darkness is Achluophobia, Myctophobia, or Scotophobia.
All of these are a concern for me.
I like the light to be on when I tread the treacherous steps leading to the royal chambers.
I will wait for a very, very, very long time for that light to go on.
I will not traipse or traverse those stairs until the darkness is dispelled so I can continue on my way.
It doesn't matter how cozy and warm the royal bed may be.
Really.
So what are you afraid of?
So, may your way be lit and your walk be confident as you navigate through your day.
TTFN!

The concierge has not tortured us with any feather dusters so we also do not have Pteronophobia. (Fear of feathers or being tickled with feathers.) Which is good, since we are bird dogs after all. Being afraid of feathers would be a bad thing!
We also do not suffer from Coprophobia or Scatophobia, but we suspect the concierge may have that issue with the tenacity with which she hunts our fecal matter down and freaks out when she catches us snacking on it. It is just not a reaction from a rational level headed individual. She gets way too emotional.

And none of us suffer from Zoophobia (animals), Doraphobia (Animals, skins or fur), or Agrizoophobia (Wild animals). Which again, is a good thing given that we are dogs!
I will admit that Neophobia is up there on the list of possible issues for us, however. We generally are not fond of new things unless it is something we can readily eat.
But, I digress. I still have not discussed Achluophobia. It is a Fear of darkness.
