Never A Dull Moment.... Never a Moment.....

Hi G-Fans!
I almost had to write this from the ER tonight!
The concierge was overheard saying, "Never a dull moment around here!".  I don't agree, but then I am here nearly 24-7 and she is not.  So the statistical averages are in the favor of me finding some dull moments.  But, not tonight.
In my defense, I have repeatedly made it abundantly clear that I take the first walk, the first meal, the first cookie, just not the first bath or pedicure.  I GO FIRST.  End of story.  And it would have been the end of the story had that happened.
But it did not.
What did happen was this....
Bertie ate a little bland breakfast this morning giving a glimmer of relief to the concierge's worry.
It was only a tablespoon of rice cereal with non-dairy vanilla yogurt and a smattering of grain-free salmon canned food.
So, for lunch he had a larger portion of the same.
So far so good.
In the meantime an appointment at the old vet was secured in the evening as no appointments were readily available at the new vet.  So, an 8:40 p.m. appointment.
35 minute drive away.
Surprisingly the concierge got home only slightly after 6:30 so she fed us our dinner and worked with the helper for human  fixins.
Bertie actually did his dinner dance and pretty much told us he was fine.  But the concierge was going to be sure and get him up-to-date on blood work and a check-up.
So they left at 8:00, after all of us had our meals.  But they did not leave before the flourless chocolate cake was divvied up for dessert, but not eaten, but left on the counter for the concierge, the helper and they were going to share the third and final piece with Harry's concierge.
A plan was hatched for some of us to be walked while the concierge was at the vet with Bertie.
Who to take with whom?
Hmmm.
That should have been a no-brainer.
Alas, they are not as well trained as I would like and I have pretty much reached the end of my rope in patience.
Loud and serious action was all I had left.
Because they took Harry, Raphael and Tess.
That was just too much for me to bear.  Tess.  Really?  Tess?  I love my daughter, but she does not go before me!!
Not only did I make this point with the sponge and sardine can, but I ate every last morsel of the cake too.  I took the plastic container holding the third piece into the living room and I delicately removed the other two pieces from the special plates without disturbing them at all.  Riley snored away, oblivious to my activities.
When the helper and Harry's concierge returned and realized what I had done they called the concierge who was just being taken in for Bertie's appointment almost an hour late.
Her phone was dying.
But, she instructed them to work together and administer the vile potion that forced me to relinquish the three pieces of chocolate cake from the depths of my belly.  At least Riley had to do it too, since there was no guarantee that I didn't share one of the pieces....(HA HA HA HA!  Funny!)
So Riley threw up his entire dinner and I threw up three pieces of chocolate cake and dinner.
THEN they took us for a walk!!
If they had only done it earlier so much of this could have been avoided!
I feel fine, Bertie feels fine, Riley just wants to go to bed and Bertie hopes to get a full breakfast tomorrow.
So, that was my night, how was yours?
May the spirits of providence let you keep the bounty they place before you.....
Amen!
TTFN!

There was a picture of Bertie at the vet, but because the phone died, it is unavailable for tonight's entry...
