Hi G-Fans!
We were teased into thinking this was to be a sunny spring-like day. I will give you that it didn't rain, and the muckety-muck ground resembled spring thaw mud. But, it was cloudy and overcast and only in the forties which is colder than we anticipated. It doesn't change what I wear on a walk, but it does for the two-leggeds.
We had a full bog walk (about time!) without incident. It was grey and overcast with a wet ground.
Now, Bertie, who NEVER misses a meal or snack, turned his nose up at breakfast and had the concierge worried. But then ate lunch cookies and walked like there were no issues. So the walk was lovely and Bertie pooped a regular sort of poop, so all seemed good. No crotchety attitudes, no rushing us, just a good brisk walk.
We all chilled until dinner time, and then Bertie was completely uninterested in any kind of food, even that swanky canned food that is saved for just these sorts of occasions. No interest. He even let the cat eat the wet food without a flicker of interest. That is not a good sign at all. Even when I am sticking my nose up, I guard the food for later. He showed zero interest. Zero. No cookies, no canned, no regular, no nothing.
So, now the tools and lotions and potions are dragged out. He gets his temperature taken, slightly elevated. He gets a second dose of Mylanta and his ear gets cleaned out (it makes the concierge feel like she is doing something useful).
So, it looks like Bertie will be meeting the vet tomorrow unless he eats and picks up the energy. The suspects are, of course, the beginning of some sort of infection, too much ice/snow eating, or a blockage of some sort..... Whatever it is, we would like things to get back on track sooner rather than later and without a visit to the doctor.
So, if all of you reading this could put in some kind thoughts and healing prayers for Bertie, we would be appreciative.
So, that is the latest.
