Two by two

"I will look at you with my shiny glowing eyes and do a vulcan mind meld
so you will give me and my friend here some tasty treats.  Belly rubs will be good too."
Hi G-Fans!
I hope this finds you well this evening!?
I do have a bit of a gripe this evening.
I try to let things go when they aren't a detriment to the castle or my domain.  Today the concierge was a little fresh.  I was canvassing the grounds and had to protect the perimeter this morning.  It was crucial to our safety.  My troops abandoned me upon the concierge shrieking out the door (she maintains she did not shriek, but merely firmly called out... I wonder what version the neighbors would endorse?).  It was unacceptable, but not unexpected.  It happens often.  She calls, they go running.  It is frustrating when I can't rely on my troops to back me up in moments of need.  I think there may have been a twig that moved inappropriately or a squirrel moving from one tree to another.  Something.  I don't recall what.  But we needed to let it know we were on the job and that nothing would be sneaking past us without a commotion and contest.  But, there I was alone, taking care of this very important task.  That's the thing most don't realize about being a princess.  There are many required duties we have to attend to, and protecting the castle and its territories is one of them.  If we have lost our troops, than we must shoulder the burden alone.  The concierge, however, is clueless about the important tasks I need to take care of.  When I didn't desist from my activity and continued to bark vociferously she marched out to come and get me, like I was some sort of commoner or child.  It was ridiculous and impertinent.  She even made a lowly comment about giving me a "cherry bottom" for being so insolent.  Imagine, me being called insolent!  It was the concierge who was the epitome of insolence!  Insolent to the nth degree even!  I could even say she was disrespectful, insubordinate, contemptuous, audacious, insulting, abusive and contumelious! Wouldn't you agree?
So, I hope you have time each day in which you can exercise your raison d'etre,
even when others around you may not understand.
Enjoy the pictures.

"We are in position and waiting for those belly rubs..."
"Do you see that bird up there?"

"It moved to the bush."

"It flew off...."

"Maybe not, look again..."  "I see something else..."

"
"Oh, never mind, I am tired now."

"We're tired too.  I am glad this bed is big enough for two."
I know it is big enough for two, but it's ok if you want to snuggle closer...."

"I've got you covered :)"
The flash washed me right out,
but if you look closely you can see that Bertie is slack jawed and deep asleep,
unaware of the flash from the camera.  Or anything else for that matter.  I made sure I was keeping an eye on the concierge.  She was plotting a bedroom egress that may have excluded me because of actions I can't discuss, from earlier in the evening.
Suffice it to say, she was put off by my airs.
I did, however, get included when we retired to the royal chambers...
