Hi G-Fans!
And, again, with the beautiful fall day!
And again with a long luxurious unrushed forest walk!
There was, however, drama.
Harry was not with us luckily, or there would have been more drama.
We found a secluded spot to park our royal vehicle and began our walk as any other.
We passed a very intriguing looking mushroom and the concierge wanted to take a picture.
Since the helper had all the leashes the concierge started taking pictures of us as well.
Then she heard voice.
And they were not inside of her head, they were down the path.
She tried to quickly turn the camera off, secure the cellular device, gather us up and prepare for our battle cry.
Around the corner charged a shepherd with a prong collar.
All the concierge could manage to say was, "Crap, crap, CRAP!" (I quote...)
The dog was headed for Bertie and Tessa first and it was unclear of his intentions or what his disposition was. The humans he was with were still yet to get on the scene. After charging Tessa and Bertie it came straight for us. The concierge was trying to mind meld him and contain us at the same time.
So, she tripped on one of us and fell, like usual.
At which point she gave it up since there was nothing she was going to accomplish with her butt kissing the dirt.
At which point she became pretty certain that the dog was fairly young and was just curiously exuberant.
We were still screaming our heads off.
Finally his human got his attention and tried to engage the concierge pleasantly after apologizing.
The concierge was a little short on word and breath and was trying to get her gasping down to a pant.
The human acknowledged that we were Spinone (which impressed the concierge) and said he thought his dog was going after a deer....
The concierge never corrected the other human for being ok with the dog chasing a deer (illegal) and for the dog not being tethered (illegal)....
Instead.....
The concierge ended up only waving, gesticulating and shaking her head as she didn't have the breath to speak.
It turns out there was one adult human and three non-adult humans with this ruffian dog.
Just sayin'
So, may you find courage in the face of bad circumstances beyond your control..
TTFN!
-G
