Hi G-Fans!
Well, Another Saturday night,,,, as the musician formerly known as "Cat Stevens" would sing away.....
I'm in an awful way
That's how I'm in the state I'm in
I'm in an awful way
To a cat named Frankenstein
I'm in an awful way
I'm gonna have to blow this town
I'm in an awful way
Now, how I wish I had someone to talk to
He's in an awful way
So, I could complain without reservation and with considerable bitterness about today's events, but I won't.
I won't mention that it no longer has the smell of home with that well-lived-in smell, with aromas of body secretions and fallen off hair mixed with dirt and dust; the brown patina of mud skids and paw prints on the furniture and floor....
I won't talk about the Orange Oil, Geranium and Honeysuckle odors that have supplanted the aroma of home.
Not that I have anything against those smells, it sure beats the smell of bleach that is in the bathroom. Which is unusual, bleach isn't the norm here even on a cleaning day. I will say that the concierge really scrubbed down some stuff today. It was intriguing to watch her flit about from one thing to the next. Kind of like a whirling dervish I would say.
She did take a break midday and left us to our midday napping, only to return smelling ripe with animal smell. Big animal smell. She said it was "horse smell" and shared pictures so I could include them in the blog.
Again, I might normally complain vehemently about all this.
But I won't.
You ask why?
I will tell you.
We took an awesome walk in the forest.
It was mostly new mixed with a little of some familiar areas in the forest. The smells were intoxicating and it was after supper so we were getting a generous helping of animal smells with the day time ones winding down and the evening ones gearing up. We wish we could share another picture with you, but the concierge didn't bring her camera/phone so we can only share it with our words. First, I want you to know that we didn't bark or go into a frenzy when this happened. But as we entered a field from the tree stand we were walking through on a trail we saw three deer. A momma and two babies. They stared at us while we stared at them for several minutes. And suddenly they high tailed it out of there with the white tails flicking as they ran.
We also saw a hawk swooping across another field. And there were tiny birds (Siskins?) flitting across our path. All in all a very good very satisfying walk.
So, enjoy the pictures.
The ones of us the concierge was trying to catch us passed out. She thought it was good we were all so tuckered out and that we could relax a little.
So, may you focus on the positive aspects of each day and minimize the less savory aspects and not be overshadowed by them!
TTFN!
