Mousie Away!

Hi G-Fans!
Well, another day of unauthorized activities.
Raphael woke the concierge and myself from a deep slumber at an inappropriate time of the night.
The concierge thought it was a bathroom emergency and got up to let him out (which means all of us have to go out...) and didn't fully realize that Raphael was barking because of Sophie.
The concierge finally had the squeaking noise penetrate her sleepified cortex and she ascertained the nature of the disturbance.
A mouse.
Again.
Sophie was playing gently with it.
So she was staring at it and the concierge was staring at the two of them staring at one another in the darkened room.
Without glasses the concierge was challenged to say the least.
But, she went and retrieved the trap from the basement and then tried to catch the little guy blind since Sophie and Snagglepus saw this as a fun and intriguing spectator sport.
It took a few minutes of false attempts until the mouse ran into an unused pair of pj pants and the concierge used that to her advantage.  I believe she was hoping it would hop in on its own.  It did not.
After a few more false attempts there was success as the concierge was able to stuff the pant leg into the trap and then pull the fabric through the trap door, leaving the mouse behind.... and then we could all go back to bed!
These late night/early morning wake-ups are severely affecting my beauty sleep!
But that isn't the end of the story.
The release was challenging.
The concierge gathered the trap in the bag and took it with her on the way to work.
She stopped at the forest's edge away from human homes as a good release site.
She opened the trap door into the leafy ground.
The mouse clung to the trap walls for dear life even after the concierge tapped its little toes several times to get it to release so he could scamper off into the woods.  Seconds turned into minutes and still he clung!
Finally, after twisting and turning and tapping on the trap and his toes, he came out...
Then the concierge could continue on her day... as could the mouse...
There are more chapters to today's activities, but I will close for tonight as those are stories are for another day.
May you find resources to help deal with the bumps in life...
TTFN!
