Lions and Tigers and..... MICE... OH MY! & (: 4th

Hi G-Fans!
We were unable to keep our eyes open last night to make my blog entry... So, now is as good as it gets.
Yesterday was another hot, humid, sultry sort of summer day.
We stayed in the a/c for the most part and relaxed.
The concierge was slow moving in the morning, she did not do her usual dash from the domicile.
But, then, she did not get home until late, and by then we were pretty wigged out with fireworks nearby a chicken roasting in the oven and Raphael throwing up his snack in the afternoon.
And that isn't even the exciting part of the day.
So, like I indicated, the fireworks were causing some angst for Tessa and the rest of us were hoping that it would end quickly (except RIley, now that he is deaf he is not bothered by things like thunder storms and fireworks....)
So, the concierge strolled in verrrry late. She didn't smell of fireworks, she didn't smell of work, she smelled of FOOD!  Yummy food.  She even had the audacity to bring a few bites home from her plate.  She says I can't have any because it has coffee and chocolate in it.... but we will see about keeping things from me.
Anyway, Harry's concierges were hanging out with us because of the fireworks and cooking chicken (I think they pretended that it was for our benefit, I think the fireworks were scaring them.... Just sayin')
So, the concierge went to business to get a handle on the chicken, the evening routine and she had to go into the basement to get more dishwashing liquid so she could start the process.  She had left the mouse trap ready by the shelves with the dish detergent.  It was "sprung".  Now the trap is very sensitive and has been sprung on many occasions without capturing anything.  Not in this case.  There was movement in there which made the concierge squawk loudly.  She guessed the mouse had been there for a bit - lots of mousey poop.  Hey, what happened to that electronic thingy?  Shouldn't they all have vamoosed?
Anyway.  A plan had to be devised toute de suite.  The mouse couldn't go all night in the tiny trap and the concierge had to be able to sleep.  So a relocation program was developed on the fly at 10:45 p.m..  Gloves, headlamps, paperbags and three humans were required to execute the plan.  I wasn't given specifics, but the concierge came back talking about the tan field mouse hitching a ride on her pant leg to get back to the house.  Btw - the mouse who drowned was a grey mouse.  I wonder if they got along.  It seems we have grey mice and field mice mixing it up whenever we have mouse issues.  Would it be possible that a field mouse encourage the grey mouse to go to the edge of that bucket of water and maybe pushed him/her over the edge?  Are the field mice that conniving?  I know they are excellent jumpers.  Aside from that - I dunno.
Anyway - I think the release was a successful event and the concierge hopes that is it for all these mice.  She is seriously thinking of getting a mouser cat to take care of business.
Watch out everyone!
So, may you show compassion to even the pesky beings in your life.
TTFN!
'Til this evening....
Happy 4th!

NOT a mouser!  Just a lover...
