Hi G-Fans!
I am sure you will be just as appalled as I am when I relay tonight's goings-on.
Every night we go for "last outs" before we get a bedtime cookie.
I usually like to meander at my own pace as any good royal should do. The minions should adjust their schedules to our needs and whims, most certainly not the other way around!
Nearly every night I take a leisurely approach to the return inside for the cookie. I know I am getting a cookie, so I may as well enjoy my outside time in my own time and not succumb to the pressures of others. Every night, however, the concierge tells me to 'light a fire under it' or Tessa will be enjoying my snack. Now, I know Tessa, she LOVES her snacks and meals and does back flips (nearly) for both. If there is the slightest opportunity for additional snacks, she will make sure to take advantage of it. So, I will admit, that I get a bit more zippy getting myself back in. Tonight, the concierge got everyone in without issue, and as usual, I took my time. She announced that Tessa was getting my cookie and I was going to bed without. Well, I couldn't believe my ears, I thought I mistook what I heard, so I followed the usual routine. I mean, who bosses the princess around? Really, who?
When I got in everyone was smacking their lips and had crumbs in their beards and Tessa was looking unusually satisfied.
The concierge was getting everyone to bed and pretty much ignoring me.
IGNORING ME!!!
ME!!!
She was jabbering away about listening, and being done with something fresh, and so on. Nothing worth listening to for sure. So I continued to be my cute coquettish self and poured the charm on...
And watched as Tessa and Bertie were put to bed. Then Raphael. Then Riley was sent to the Royal chambers without me. I was standing waiting. Patiently I might add.
Nothing. And no cooing, or good girls, or sweet talk of any kind.
Then, without crumbs in my beard or any residual licking of my lips I was allowed to go to the royal chambers, but still without cookies.
WHAT??!!
Then the concierge came into the other room, since I refused to go up the stairs, and made me prove to her that I can listen when motivated. Finally, some cookies resulted.
But really.
Such ridiculousness.
I will be changing this back to the "usual"!
So, may you find the crumbs of past delicacies draped unexpectedly across your chops for unexpected reminders of past deliciousness.
May you also celebrate a blessed Easter.
TTFN!
-G
