Which would be worse? Toad sucking and maiming (sometimes killing) or Turkey sandwich snatching? You ask, "What?" So, I repeat, "Which is worse, 'Toad sucking or Turkey snatching?'"
The concierge thinks Toad sucking is worse.
Harry's concierge thinks Turkey snatching is worse.
Why you ask?
Raphael will grab toads garnishing the last warmth of the day from the ground, and more and more frequently ends up killing them. This makes the concierge crazy hot. Raph loses leash freedom and is tethered to her hip when that happens.
Harry's concierge has, thus far this week, had two episodes of sandwich snatching by Harry. And it isn't like a casual grab and go, he grabs and locks down, tries to hide it and his eyes roll in back of his head. The first time this week it took both concierges ten minutes to unlock his jaw so they could pry the sandwich out and make it disappear. He was very disobedient and determined. Tonight it took more than fifteen minutes with both of his concierges working together to get it out.
I don't know what the big deal is, really, I don't. Why he can't have a little leftover snack from some spoiled kid's lunch is beyond me. But, apparently it is not ok. I will have to be sure to be more stealthy than Harry if I ever am tempted by a turkey sandwich on the side of the road.
Ok, so that is it for tonight, except that after our very late walk the concierge cut up a few clear plastic bags and covered her tomato plants so the expected night's frost doesn't damage anything.
So, aside from the concierge crabbing and grumbling,
all is fine in this neck of the world.
So, may you get tucked in with special blankets on nights that require extra warmth!
