| Manomet Point Beach, Can you find the Grey Seal Pup? |
Hi G-Fans!
Well, what a day!
We didn't get the expected rain which makes us all happy and also we know it makes the flowers sad, so a little guilty feeling about being happy.
The concierge was our lunchtime check-in person.
She did a lot in a few minutes!
We got the usual outside routine, the usual cookies and the usual bird dish pick-up, but she also wolfed down some food and created and put up a temporary hanging curtain set up for the sliding back door to keep out the heat from the sun. The concierge didn't want to open the windows because she expected rain this afternoon, and she really didn't want us to bake like our home made treat cookies.
Did I tell you about those??
Sunday the concierge whipped up a batch of tuna juice, peanut butter, oatmeal gf applesauce and molasses cookies.
We liked the last batch better, but... we-are-NOT-complaining!!
We like them a lot!
We have already finished the crunchy half, I hope the soft half last a little longer.... I doubt it though.
Tonight we had our dinner thrown at us in a mad dash as the concierge gathered picture taking devices along with things that give them power.
Then she left.
She came back grumpy. Something about technology sucking.
Then we were leased up and ushered out the door in a mad attempt to garnish the last rays of light from the sun.
As we are turning a corner Bertie, Riley, me and the concierge are focused on the next part of the walk.
Behind us we hear scuffling, leaves crunching a squeaking.
Raphael and Tessa are doing the Mexican hat dance with the concierge's helper.
Before we knew it the squeaking stopped and Raphael is still looking for the thing that is making the squeaky noise. Tessa isn't looking anymore.
The concierge, not knowing what she was going to encounter, threw the leashes at her helper and unhooked Tessa so we couldn't help out. Go figure. Nothing like ignoring help that is right in your face!
Anyway,
Tessa was pulled away from us and we could only watch helplessly as the drama continued to unfold.
The concierge told Tessa to drop it, squeezed Tessa's cheeks to drop it, and pried Tessa's jaw open to force the squeaking thing out.
Nothing came out.
The concierge continued to shake Tessa's face and kept her jaw open while looking for a stick to put in Tessa's mouth.
Nothing.
And then, plop.
Out came a little wild bunny.
It seemed to be relatively ok as it scampered off under a bush.
Then we saw....
Momma bunny ahead glaring at us.
We all knew that we had to protect the concierge and her helper from the wrath of the bunny momma.
We lunged and whimpered and frothed at the mouth to make it clear to the concierge that she was in danger and we could, should and would take care of it.
She just didn't seem to understand the gravity of the situation.
She shushed us and told us to leave it!
Sometimes the gratitude around here is sorely lacking.
Anyway, the momma went in search for the baby and Tessa (and Raphael) kept her nose to the ground the remainder of the walk try to scoop another exciting event, much to the annoyance of the concierge.
At any rate, Tessa is in the serious dog house while Bertie, Riley and I are most definitely not :)
So, sometimes things can have a good ending even when you don't get your way.
The concierge hopes the bunny recovered from being scooped up and slobbered on, I don't really care.
Let's be honest.
I am a dog.
So, with that stated, I hope your evening is full of delightful happenings and you retire feeling full of expectation and adventure before drifting off to sleep.
TTFN!
-G
