Hi G-Fans!
Shhhh!
Grace is sleeping.
The concierge here.
Since Grace is snoring (don't tell her I let that slip!) I thought I would let a sleeping (princess) dog lie and fill in for her tonight.
As I sit looking around the royal rumpus room I am struck.
In awe.
Of how lucky I am.
As I listen to the deep rhythmic breathing of air being expelled in multiple locations I look around.
To my right is Tessa, lying in a half twist completely molded into my right thigh and looking up up me with her big brown eyes in utter contentment.
On my lap amidst remote controls, cell phone and atop a folded purple, white and black colored Mexican blanket perches a loudly purring long-haired dog-cat named Snagglepus. On the floor beneath my feet lays Raphael on his side serenely dreaming dog-dreams in a peaceful sort of way. Across from me in the recliner is Riley, nose-to-tail, ears relaxed and sleeping the sleep of the protected. Behind me, on a pile of pillows, lays Bertie, after vacating my right side only moments before, and thus allowing a spot to open up to Tess' delight. And then, on my left, in a half curl, lays my girl. The one and only Spinone Princess Grace. Don't let her fool you with her sassy smartie pants way, she is a snuggle pants all the way through and although generally prefers to snuggle on my right, she acquiesced this evening to be content hugging up on my left.
So, as I gaze upon the peacefully sleeping beings strewn about me in a carefully haphazard way, I hear the tick, tick, tick of the non-digital clock powered up by a recently replaced fresh battery.
When you see or hear the saying that is so popular lately, "life is good", bring to mind this mental image I have tried to share with you.
It is, truly, the meaning... in all its goodness and fullness.
Life is Good.
Despite the bumps and grinds and stresses we face each day.
Life truly is Good.
May we feel that blessing with each breath we take and may we share that with each person we encounter throughout each day we have.
Life is Good.
Pass it on!
Over and out...
-The Concierge.
